My iPhone is protected by a tempered glass screen protector and a shock-resistant case, so I have nothing to worry about!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7937\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3333.jpg\" alt=\"My cell phone broke\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3333.jpg 375w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3333-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And it broke right through the Enhanced Crow...<\/p>\n<p>The material that was dumped there is RC (Recycled Crusher Run)\u2014commonly known as crushed stone.<\/p>\n<p>It seems the sharp tip struck the target with pinpoint accuracy...<\/p>\n<p>I'm so lucky!!...<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>But that's beside the point.<\/p>\n<p>This is a continuation of my previous post.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">4. Tension Work<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>If there was a mistake here, it was more on the construction management side.<\/p>\n<p>About 80% of managers have a misconception about stress management, but<\/p>\n<p>The maximum test load is set so that it does not exceed Td \u00d7 1.25 based on the Rank A design anchor force.<\/p>\n<p>It's okay not to exceed that amount. However, most people calculate using 1.25 times that amount.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Japanese is difficult, but,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\"Go Beyond\"<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\uff1d<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\"Excluding the reference quantity, it must be greater than that amount.\"<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\"Don't go over\"<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\uff1d<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>\"Not including the reference quantity, but being less than that\"<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Based on the interpretation above, that means the maximum load is 1.24 times the standard load. (Not that it really matters, lol.)<\/p>\n<p>Well, I guess you could call it nitpicking, but dealing with someone who\u2019s that picky would probably get annoying at this point, lol.<\/p>\n<p>Inspectors who nitpick every little detail, lol<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7939\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMGP0468-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Stress Management\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMGP0468.jpg 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMGP0468-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But that's not actually the point.<\/p>\n<p>The misunderstanding lies in the fact that tests are conducted at 1.25 times the standard value regardless of soil type.<\/p>\n<p>If the anchorage is in rock that's as hard as a rock, then sure, that would be fine.<\/p>\n<p>But what if it\u2019s a slimy mudstone that\u2019s hard to drill through when water gets in?<\/p>\n<p>No matter how long the fixation period is, I think it\u2019s a bit risky, and you\u2019d probably want to keep it a little shorter, right?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">It's okay to use that feeling as a benchmark, right?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>This means you don't have to apply a load equal to 1.25 times the maximum test load at every anchor site!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff; font-size: 20px;\"><strong>\"The maximum design load specified in the standards is an upper limit; since testing is conducted using anchors that will actually be used in service, the responsible engineer may, based on the actual conditions at the site, set the load below this limit.\"<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nDesign and Construction Standards for Ground Anchors, and Commentary Thereon, p. 190, Japanese Geotechnical Society<\/p>\n<p>That's what it says.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no need to subject something that will be in service for decades to such rigorous testing.<\/p>\n<p>Simply put,<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">As long as it can withstand loads greater than the design load, that's fine.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's the point.<\/p>\n<p>However, considering set loss, it\u2019s best to keep it between about 1.10x and 1.20x.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In my case, I use the same safety factor for both the qualification test and the verification test, so the maximum test load is the same.<\/p>\n<p>It makes writing on the blackboard easier, lol (though we use a digital whiteboard now).<\/p>\n<p>I actually use a multiplier of 1.15 to 1.2 times (to ensure it exceeds the set loss).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7941\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3202-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"PC Pressure Plate\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3202.jpg 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_3202-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Even if you submit a contingency plan to the government office, they usually won\u2019t say anything, and if they do ask why,<\/p>\n<p>The mountain was rough, so I played it safe.
