{"id":7564,"date":"2018-07-14T22:21:01","date_gmt":"2018-07-14T13:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/?p=7564"},"modified":"2026-05-17T15:00:42","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T06:00:42","slug":"gov-consultant-contractor-good-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/en\/gov-consultant-contractor-good-work\/","title":{"rendered":"Just Creating Great Products at Government Agencies, Consulting Firms, and Construction Companies | The Essence of Collaboration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.<\/p>\n<p>This is Enta.<\/p>\n<p>It's really hot, isn't it?<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve got really distinct tan lines from my helmet\u2019s chin strap right in front of both my ears, too\u2026 lol<\/p>\n<p>Even when I take off my helmet, the white chin strap is still showing lol<\/p>\n<p>Well, I guess that's just part of the job.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>But that's beside the point.<\/p>\n<h3>Documents I Want to Obtain from the Government Office<\/h3>\n<p>At one job site, the anchor body length (embedded length) of a temporary anchor was 11.5 meters.<\/p>\n<p>However, the standard maximum length for an anchor body is 10 meters or less.<br \/>\n(From the Ground Anchor Design and Construction Standards, p. 67\u2013)<\/p>\n<p>I've never seen a design where the height is set at 11.5 meters.<\/p>\n<p>With standard design software, this would normally be rejected, but...<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7572\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/baseball_shinpan_out-600x741.png\" alt=\"Out\" width=\"486\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/baseball_shinpan_out.png 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/baseball_shinpan_out-243x300.png 243w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 486px) 100vw, 486px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, this was a bit of a problem in its own right, but I explained the situation to the general contractor for now.<\/p>\n<p>I was told to scan the book, submit it to the local government office, and redesign it to be less than 10 meters.<\/p>\n<p>Then,<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong>Since we\u2019re bidding on and winning contracts with this, you\u2019ll just have to make it work with this design.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That was a surprising answer, lol<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It seems like a lot of government offices are like this these days. But I guess there\u2019s nothing we can do about it.<\/p>\n<p>I suppose they don't want to be told that the design is flawed\u2014or maybe they just don't want to have to send it back to the consultants.<\/p>\n<p>However, since we cannot proceed with construction as is, we will draft a memorandum of understanding.<br \/>\n(Technically, the general contractor is responsible for creating this, but in cases like this, we need to ensure that our intentions are clearly conveyed, so we\u2019ll draft the content ourselves.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The reason why the tension cannot reach the design load under these conditions (possibility of failure?) and<\/p>\n<p>I will explain why there aren't enough anchors when the anchor length is shortened due to insufficient load capacity.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-7573\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/kubaru.png\" alt=\"Submission\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/kubaru.png 180w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/kubaru-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Naturally, since the number of anchors will increase, the cost will go up.<\/p>\n<p>I won't know exactly how much it will increase until I do the calculations, but I'll submit it with that in mind.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the procedure for on-site meetings, if any issues arise, we will first notify the relevant parties verbally and then submit a written report, such as a meeting minutes.<\/p>\n<p>In such cases, items that are inconvenient for the government office may be refused.<\/p>\n<p>A veteran director I know is so thorough that he even records the audio... (This is just my personal opinion, though.)<\/p>\n<p>If the request is denied, it is necessary to arrange a meeting with the chief supervisor, section chief, and others.<\/p>\n<p>This means you need a reason to refuse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When making changes or holding discussions, it is essential to have solid evidence to back them up.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, reference materials such as specialized books are absolutely essential, so please make sure to have them ready.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, design calculations and other documents may be required.<\/p>\n<p>Please be sure to attach the cost estimate documents as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the end,<span style=\"font-size: 20px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The document required from the contractor is the work order!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>With this in hand, you\u2019ll have official instructions from the government, so you can proceed with the construction with confidence.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Government agencies, consulting firms, and construction companies are all run by people, so they make mistakes.<\/p>\n<p>As long as we acknowledge that and make adjustments to create something good, that's fine.<\/p>\n<p>Just for that alone, the director puts an incredible amount of effort into preparing the paperwork. lol<\/p>\n<p>Being a site supervisor is really tough, isn't it!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>See you later.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.
