It\u2019s only natural for humans to experience wear and tear over time.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll be 72 this year, but I think it\u2019s only natural for both my mind and body to change. However, that doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s all bad\u2014with all the experience I\u2019ve accumulated, there must be some positive aspects as well.<\/p>\n
Physically, I sometimes feel like I walk a little slower than I used to. I haven\u2019t actually reached the point where I\u2019m so tired that it\u2019s a problem, but I\u2019ve started paying a little more attention to my sleep and diet than I used to. It\u2019s been about three months now, and at my current job site, I\u2019m still handling these tasks every day: construction management, reviewing architectural drawings, preparing construction drawings, checking work instructions, and preparing daily site reports and accompanying drawings. Some people my age are still working hard in the field. On the other hand, there are those who have decided to step back from the front lines of architecture. Anyone who works in construction management will understand this: when you go out to a job site and look around, there are certain spots where you immediately notice something that catches your eye.<\/p>\n This sensitivity varies considerably from person to person. Even when observing the same situation, some people have clear thoughts about what they feel, how they feel it, and how things should ideally be, while others have no such thoughts at all. That reaction is the result of your past experiences and knowledge\u2014which have been absorbed into your subconscious\u2014responding to information received through your eyes. That is precisely why you must cherish and respect it. If that instant reaction becomes dull or disappears, it will become difficult to maintain the quality you desire.<\/p>\n I hope young people will make a point of seeing with their eyes, listening with their ears, touching with their hands, and building up a wealth of knowledge in their minds.<\/p>\n To do that,The habit of deciding whether incoming information is good or bad<\/strong>The key is to ask questions. Is this really okay? Doesn't this seem strange? If you feel that way, think about why. If you don't understand, ask someone. Research it yourself until you're satisfied.<\/p>\n More than half of them can\u2019t be resolved on the spot. There are probably many cases where, even after searching high and low, you still can\u2019t figure it out at all. The bottom line is that you must always think for yourself. What artificial intelligence has to say is merely one point of reference. What\u2019s important is engaging with people and learning through conversation; the insights gained from on-site craftsmen are truly valuable to construction managers.<\/p>\n Sometimes people say things that contradict my own opinions, but even that is valuable information. Since everyone speaks based on their own perspective, I shouldn\u2019t take everything at face value, but hearing a variety of viewpoints helps me grow. As I go through this process, I gradually get closer to what seems to be the truth.<\/p>\n
\nI'm at an age where it wouldn't be surprising if signs of aging started to show at any time. Well,I guess I'll just have to take it as it comes\u2014whatever will be, will be.<\/strong>I also think it\u2019s important to just accept things as they are.<\/p>\n
\nI often feel that I should be providing more in-depth instructions and guidance, and that I\u2019m falling short in that regard. Still, I think I\u2019m managing to fulfill the role assigned to me reasonably well.
\nPerhaps the reason I find myself thinking about myself like this is that, even if only subconsciously, I\u2019m sensing some kind of change.<\/p>\n
\n\"Because I'm no longer confident in my physical stamina,\" \"because I'm not getting any work anymore,\" and some people even give the simple reason, \"I think I'm done.\"
\nPersonally, I believe it\u2019s time to step down when I can no longer perform the required work to a satisfactory standard and start making compromises. To put it more specifically, when my instincts for what works on the job start to dull, it\u2019s time to move on.<\/p>\nA \"beep\" sound<\/h2>\n
\nWhile it\u2019s true that there are significant differences in experience and knowledge, what people who can react quickly have in common is that,Someone who values their own inner reactions and trusts themselves<\/strong>That's the idea.<\/p>\nCultivating Sensitivity<\/h2>\n
\nBut everything I couldn\u2019t solve or didn\u2019t understand remains stored away in the drawers of my brain. I think that when it pops into my head out of the blue, or when a new idea emerges, it\u2019s as if those memories act as sensors, bringing those thoughts to the surface.<\/p>\nSomeday, the answer will come to mind.<\/h2>\n
