Even at 6 a.m., you're already drenched in sweat\u2014don't you just want to take a shower before you even get to the site? lol<\/p>\n

This time, I\u2019m not going to talk about technology; instead, I\u2019d like to address our new employees who joined us this spring.<\/p>\n
It's basically saying, \"Young people, make it through the summer!!!\" lol<\/p>\n
I joined the company as a new hire, and now, after spring and the rainy season, it\u2019s summer.<\/p>\n
It's a hell of a summer.<\/p>\n
Summer is a very important season for work; it\u2019s when you really get put to the test.<\/p>\n
I'm gradually getting used to the job, and I'm getting used to both my coworkers and the company.<\/p>\n
But I'm still not used to this time of year.<\/p>\n
I understand.<\/p>\n
Around this time of year, mornings are so tough that I feel like quitting.<\/p>\n
I totally get it.<\/p>\n
I used to be like that, too.<\/p>\n
It's an early morning, and it's hot outside.<\/p>\n
Maybe because I'm starting to get the hang of the job, things have gradually gotten busier.<\/p>\n
It's one of those times when I feel like quitting.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s especially risky right after long weekends or the Obon holiday, lol.<\/p>\n
Once your body gets used to taking it easy on your days off, the morning heat feels twice as intense.<\/p>\n
In fact, from this time of year through the fall, people are quitting left and right.<\/p>\n
Maybe this job isn't right for me?<\/p>\n
Isn't there a job out there that pays better and is less stressful?<\/p>\n
Aren't there any jobs out there that are more flashy and get more attention?<\/p>\n
I get it!<\/p>\n
I thought exactly the same thing, and it was actually during the summer when I considered quitting and looking for a new job!<\/p>\n
But take a look around you for a moment.<\/p>\n
Just take a look at the middle-aged men and women around here.<\/p>\n
Dad, look at Mom.<\/p>\n
People who work hard, and those who don't.<\/p>\n
A young entrepreneur who seems to be making a splash on social media and earning money with ease.<\/p>\n
There are so many of them.<\/p>\n
Those people, too, have spent their summers feeling the same way.<\/p>\n
So, what happened next?<\/p>\n
How did you act?<\/p>\n
Depending on how you think from here on out, your life will change.<\/p>\n

My personal advice is: for now, just get through that first summer!<\/p>\n
Now that fall is here, head out into winter.<\/p>\n
And think about it!!<\/p>\n
Why \u201cDon\u2019t Think About It Right Now\u201d?<\/p>\n
That's because when people are going through their toughest times, their ability to think clearly drops dramatically.<\/p>\n
I want to run away from there.<\/p>\n
You end up thinking about nothing else, and you tend to act in foolish ways.<\/p>\n
When you see news stories about convenience store robberies, you often hear that the perpetrator only had a few dozen yen on them, don't you?<\/p>\n
When people find themselves in an extreme situation where they have nothing to eat today or tomorrow, they can only think about the immediate future.<\/p>\n
In fact, a study published in the U.S. scientific journal *Science* suggests that being in a state of economic hardship can lead to a decline in cognitive function equivalent to about 13 IQ points.<\/p>\n
Apparently, this drop is about the same as after pulling an all-nighter.<\/p>\n
The stress of work isn't quite that extreme.<\/p>\n
However, I believe the pattern remains the same: when you run out of leeway, your ability to think clearly declines, and you become unable to consider various options.<\/p>\n
In other words, answers you come up with right in the middle of the hottest part of summer are usually pretty lousy, lol.<\/p>\n

I can't just run away every time that happens.<\/p>\n
Just hang in there.<\/p>\n
If you can get through it once, you can get through it twice.<\/p>\n
You'll be able to handle three or four times.<\/p>\n
That's when I start thinking about it.<\/p>\n
Stay calm.<\/p>\n
If you do that, you might find a way forward.<\/p>\n
Deciding whether to quit or stay is one of the biggest decisions you\u2019ll make in life.<\/p>\n
The bigger the decision, the more important it is to make it when you're in good mental condition.<\/p>\n
When buying a house or a car, no one would sign the contract while still groggy from pulling an all-nighter, right?<\/p>\n
It's the same thing.<\/p>\n
Think it over with a clear head, and if you still want to quit, then that\u2019s when you should take action.<\/p>\n
The answers you come up with at the start of summer are totally different from the ones you come up with at the start of fall, lol.<\/p>\n

Once we get past this, there will be another period when work is easier, and then winter will come.<\/p>\n
Winter isn't as tough as summer.<\/p>\n
That's why I can handle it.<\/p>\n
Your mindset is different when you\u2019re told how long to wait versus when you\u2019re not told, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n
