Lately, whether on-site or in the office, we\u2019ve really started hearing the term \u201cAI, AI\u201d all the time, haven\u2019t we?<\/p>\n
That trend is definitely reaching small and medium-sized slope construction companies like ours, too.<\/p>\n
But to be honest, aren't there a ton of people who just get stuck at the point where they're thinking, \"So, what should I actually start with?\"<\/p>\n

\"Construction AI Forum (CAIF)\"<\/strong>I, Enta, am launching a meeting called [...].<\/p>\n We're looking for people to join us, so please read this all the way through if you're interested.<\/p>\n If you're not interested at all, please close this page today ^^<\/p>\n I believe that the construction industry will undergo various changes in the future as it integrates AI.<\/p>\n But if we just sit around waiting for things to change, in the end, it\u2019ll be \u201doutsiders\u201d who end up setting the rules and reaping the profits.<\/p>\n In that case, since we\u2019re the ones who know the situation on the ground, we should take the initiative and get involved rather than just waiting around.<\/p>\n That's what I think.<\/p>\n That said, to be honest, doing it all by myself is pretty tough.<\/p>\n I know there are all kinds of things I can do, but I only know my own industry!<\/p>\n That is precisely why CAIF\u2014commonly known as CAI\u2014was founded on the idea of bringing together like-minded people to make this vision a reality.<\/p>\n Simply put, it\u2019s a meeting group and community where people on the front lines bring ideas like \u201cI want to use AI to do this\u201d or \u201cI want to use AI to do that\u201d and actually get their hands dirty.<\/p>\n We are primarily looking for civil engineering professionals.<\/p>\n Of course, this isn't limited to slope contractors alone.<\/p>\n Civil engineering contractors, paving contractors, foundation contractors, scaffolding contractors, and other trades!<\/p>\n As a construction contractor with experience in construction and construction management, I firmly believe that having people from a variety of industries working together makes things much more interesting.<\/p>\n For example, there are already plenty of people who want to make it easier to create daily reports and other routine documents, right?<\/p>\n I want to create something based on past construction photos and quantity data, and I want to speed up the process of compiling estimates.<\/p>\n How can AI help tackle those common on-site frustrations\u2014the moments when you think, \u201cThis is such a hassle\u201d?<\/p>\n I think that kind of down-to-earth theme is just fine.<\/p>\n You don't have to aim for a complicated system right from the start.<\/p>\n Ultimately, we want to create a system that formalizes the technical skills and know-how that each contractor possesses on-site and establishes a mechanism to monetize them.<\/p>\n If things go reasonably well and we generate some money, we\u2019ll make sure to distribute that wealth fairly.<\/p>\n The specific details regarding the handling of funds and the direction we will take will be decided through discussions among the members who have gathered.<\/p>\n This isn't something I can decide on my own.<\/p>\n You're free to choose whether to deposit the money into a company account or a personal account!<\/p>\n What do you think we engineers can accomplish when we come together?<\/p>\n Software that we\u2019ve been relying on IT vendors to provide, at an exorbitant cost.<\/p>\n We\u2019re living in an era where civil engineers can instantly create solutions based on ideas like, \u201cThis would make our jobs easier,\u201d or \u201cThis would be convenient!\u201d<\/p>\n And AI is incredibly user-friendly for us old-timers who\u2019ve been working on the front lines!<\/p>\n \"Huh? This is something only us old guys and gals\u2014who\u2019ve honed our skills over the years\u2014can do!<\/p>\n We can leave the IT stuff to AI, so we can focus on checking what we\u2019ve created and getting it out there!<\/p>\n That time is just around the corner.<\/p>\n We will be accepting applications on X and this blog. <\/p>\n
