Today marks the seventh anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake.<\/p>\n
It brings back all sorts of memories.<\/p>\n
Since then, have we at Norimenya been able to contribute in any way? (Those of you who went out on emergency projects have certainly contributed, right?)<\/p>\n
I guess I'll just donate a small amount.<\/p>\n
We humans are powerless in the face of the overwhelming power of nature.<\/p>\n
When I think about it that way, does it make me want to resist? Our job is really difficult.<\/p>\n

I will do my best to help in any way I can.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ve been traveling to the Tohoku region quite a bit lately, so I\u2019d love to connect with you.<\/p>\n

Our slope construction projects are all about nature! We work in natural settings a lot.<\/p>\n
Our job is to protect the areas that have collapsed or are at risk of collapsing due to the forces of nature, but<\/p>\n
All sorts of things can happen even while construction is underway.<\/p>\n
For example, a mountain might collapse during construction, or the slope beneath your feet\u2014while you\u2019re lowered using a safety harness during spray application\u2014might give way.<\/p>\n
Large rocks fell from the top of the embankment, and at the site on the side of the revetment, the entire backfill behind the gabion was washed away the day after a heavy rain.<\/p>\n
In any case, the construction will have to proceed while facing all kinds of natural obstacles.<\/p>\n
How to do it safely,Constructing while engaging with nature and making effective use of its natural resistance<\/span><\/strong><\/span>We will proceed with this.<\/p>\n It\u2019s true for us slope engineers and civil engineers too\u2014this is a line of work that involves an insane amount of interaction with nature (lol).<\/p>\n I often see or hear people talk about \u201ccommuning with nature\u201d\u2014well, I\u2019m right at the forefront of that!<\/p>\n We assess the on-site conditions and carry out design and construction while taking into account the geology, topography, environment, and surrounding conditions.<\/p>\n That's exactly what a conversation is!!<\/p>\n That way, things will run smoothly on site.<\/p>\n On sites where things are going well, the site supervisor has a good grasp of the situation and communicates effectively with everyone, which is why everything runs smoothly.<\/p>\n While engaging in dialogue requires a certain level of knowledge and experience, there are also many unpleasant and difficult aspects to it.<\/p>\n Let\u2019s move forward without running away or looking away.
