The other day, there was a young guy at work who was performing maintenance on the hydraulic hoses of a large drilling machine.<\/p>\n

While replacing a worn-out hose, I should have simply removed it to check its length, but\u2014<\/p>\n

I'm using a scale to measure it roughly and cutting the hydraulic hose.<\/p>\n

Sure enough, the hose was more than 10 centimeters too short, and to make matters worse, they\u2019d crimped a different type of fitting onto it...<\/p>\n

I can manage the hose, but since the fittings are single-use, I have to cut them off, which makes the hose even shorter lol<\/p>\n

Well, since we sell hydraulic hoses, we can offer them at a reasonably low price, but even so...<\/p>\n

Failure is the mother of success, right??<\/p>\n

I Tried Using a PC Spacer<\/h3>\n

My First PC Spacer!! This spacer is made of PC steel.<\/p>\n

As expected, matching the color of the galvanized finish is really tough!<\/p>\n

I really can't see it.<\/p>\n

I can't see where it's installed. Or rather, it's really hard to see!<\/p>\n

From a craftsman\u2019s perspective, it\u2019s easier to install while checking the view, but,<\/p>\n

From an admin's perspective, I feel like it's a bit off to be expected to handle administration, lol.<\/p>\n

In the past, we used to install them based on the superstition that 1.8 units per square meter was the standard\u2014an unspoken rule\u2014but now it\u2019s based on market price.<\/p>\n

There is no requirement to install spacers, but during inspections, what standards are used to manage them? How many are typically installed?<\/p>\n

When people say that, I find myself thinking, \u201cHmm\u2026\u201d about situations where I have no choice but to manage things.<\/p>\n

Well, if you want some color, I think you should just give it a quick spray of red spray paint the day before you use it.<\/p>\n

This project was also submitted thanks to our creative efforts to ensure proper thickness and finish quality.<\/p>\n

Also, since it\u2019s not made of plastic, it should theoretically be less prone to cracking.<\/p>\n

I haven't been able to verify this yet, though.<\/p>\n

This is what it looks like.<\/p>\n

Since it's made of spring steel, it stands upright as if it were being held open to the left and right by the force of the spring.<\/p>\n

Since these photos show the installation on level ground, it might indeed be vulnerable if stepped on from above. I\u2019ll check the slope tomorrow.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s definitely a challenge when someone\u2019s body weight is put on it.<\/p>\n

That said, any spacer will come off pretty much the same way, lol.<\/p>\n

And setting it up was surprisingly easy.<\/p>\n

I guess you won't know until you try it on, but I went ahead and recorded a video just in case.<\/p>\n
