Hello, everyone.<\/p>\n

This is Enta.<\/p>\n

Today, I\u2019d like to reflect a bit on my past and write about the challenges of work and personal growth.<\/p>\n

This is something that occurred to me while talking to an HR representative at a major company.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

These days, there\u2019s a trend that views \u201ceducation without anger\u201d and \u201cguidance without scolding\u201d as the right approach, isn\u2019t there?<\/p>\n

Power harassment is unacceptable; if you scold someone, you\u2019re immediately out; if you\u2019re too strict, people will quit.<\/p>\n

Yeah, I guess that's true.<\/p>\n

Is that really true?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That's what I've always thought.<\/p>\n

That person said something similar, and we both nodded along, like, \u201cUh-huh, uh-huh.\u201d lol<\/p>\n

\"Growth\"<\/p>\n

Are you guys really okay, having grown up without ever being scolded?<\/h2>\n

Am I the only one who feels that you guys, who were raised without ever being scolded, will have a hard time in the future?<\/p>\n

Do people grow when they are made aware of something?<\/p>\n

Do people really thrive on praise?<\/p>\n

Of course, there are people who thrive on praise. But isn\u2019t that probably the result of their own efforts?<\/p>\n

But you know,Just take a look at the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Most of the people who rise up from poverty around the world have done so while being yelled at, scolded, and beaten in the face of injustice.<\/p>\n

Whether in Asia, Africa, or South America.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a phrase called \u201cthe hunger to succeed,\u201d but that\u2019s not just empty talk\u2014Things Born from a Real Environment<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n

People who learn the ropes while getting beaten up, grit their teeth in an unreasonable environment, and still push their way to the top.<\/p>\n

In that environment, can the complacent Japanese really come out on top?<\/p>\n

Is it really true that we can\u2019t grow through hardship?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I don't really think so.<\/p>\n

\"Global<\/p>\n

Young employees at major companies are starting to realize this<\/h2>\n

I recently had the chance to talk with some young people at a major general contractor, and they said some interesting things.<\/p>\n

\"My boss is way too lenient\u2014if things keep going like this, I might be in trouble.\"<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

...right?<\/p>\n

When I heard this, I was like, \"Whoa!\" lol<\/p>\n

Kids who get it really do get it, don't they?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why some students actually volunteer to work in demanding environments or put themselves in challenging positions.<\/p>\n

Young people who think things are getting serious if they keep going this way, and those who don't.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Right now, opinions are completely split.<\/p>\n

Kids who realize things are getting serious take action on their own.<\/p>\n

Kids who don't think for themselves just keep soaking in lukewarm water. Seriously, they're like the frog in the pot!<\/p>\n

This difference is going to really show in five or ten years.<\/p>\n

Absolutely.<\/p>\n

\"Turning<\/p>\n

\"White-collar company\" sounds nice, though.<\/h2>\n

A \"White Company.\"<\/p>\n

It sounds good, doesn't it? lol<\/p>\n

No overtime, no workplace harassment, and great benefits.<\/p>\n

The sound quality is excellent.<\/p>\n

But you know,It's become a shell of its former self, and there are no real heavyweights left.<\/strong>That kind of thing happens quite a bit, actually. (Even the HR folks were stumped, lol.)<\/p>\n

Flowers grown in a greenhouse are beautiful, but they wither when you put them outside.<\/p>\n

It's not easy to say which one is better, but,<\/p>\n

People who work at \"black companies\" (meaning places with grueling working conditions) have incredibly strong skills, knowledge, and experience.<\/strong>\u3002<\/p>\n

This is an indisputable fact.<\/p>\n

Of course, I'm not advocating for exploitative companies, am I?<\/p>\n

My way of thinking might be old-fashioned, but,<\/p>\n

If you\u2019ve worked at a \u201cblack company\u201d and then move to a \u201cwhite company,\u201d your horizons are likely to broaden. (Though some people just become a total slacker, lol.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

What about the opposite?<\/p>\n

What happens if someone who\u2019s only ever worked at \u201cwhite companies\u201d ends up at a \u201cblack company\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It felt like, \u201cWill I even make it through the summer??\u201d\u2014and then, a few months later...<\/p>\n

People who have experienced challenging environments are able to perform even better in more comfortable ones.<\/p>\n

But people who have only ever known an easy life can't do anything in a tough environment.<\/p>\n

This is something that goes without saying, but for some reason, that common sense just doesn't seem to hold true these days.<\/p>\n

\"Environment\"<\/p>\n

Ages 20\u201339 Are the Years for Investing in Yourself<\/h2>\n

Here's what I think.<\/p>\n

From ages 20 to 39, I work in a demanding environment, viewing it as an investment in myself.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From then on, I\u2019ll draw on that knowledge and experience in my work.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Times may change, but people don't change that easily.<\/p>\n

People are talking about AI, digital transformation, and work-style reforms, but human nature hasn't really changed much in the last 1,000 years, lol.<\/p>\n

Those who work hard are rewarded, while those who slack off get what they deserve.<\/p>\n

This is one thing that never changes, no matter the era.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A friend who did whatever he wanted when he was young, took the easy way out, and got by by changing jobs constantly.<\/p>\n

There were quite a few of them around me, too.<\/p>\n

It's a total disaster right now. (I can't say that out loud, though.)<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are a few people who live from day to day.<\/p>\n

By the time you reach your 40s and 50s, you have no skills, no knowledge, and no certifications, and your physical strength is starting to decline.<\/p>\n

If you ask, \u201cWhat can I do?\u201d... well, the real world is tough!<\/p>\n

I'm not joking\u2014this is for real.<\/p>\n

\"Investing<\/p>\n

While my friends were playing, they were laughing at me.<\/h2>\n

Speaking of those days, while my friends were out having a blast, I was working my butt off on set, barely getting any sleep.<\/p>\n

Well, even now, the senior I still hang out with was a workaholic back then, too.<\/p>\n

It could just be that I thought that was normal, though.<\/p>\n

People around me were laughing at me.<\/p>\n

\"What are you doing?\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Just quit that grueling job.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Quit your job and come back home.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was asked out over and over again.<\/p>\n

To be honest, there were times when I wavered.<\/p>\n

Seeing everyone having fun, I wondered, \"What am I even doing here?\"<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I wake up at 5 a.m., go to the job site, work on paperwork until midnight, and don't get to sleep until 2 or 3 a.m.<\/p>\n

Even though I'm supposed to be in management, I ended up laying mats, setting up formwork using the lath method, and doing spray application with that senior colleague, lol.<\/p>\n

On top of that, I had to manage the construction while transporting leftover materials to the next site... It was super tough lol<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, my friend goes to the pachinko parlor, hangs out with classmates over drinks on the weekends, works part-time, and says, \u201cI\u2019m really enjoying life!\u201d<\/p>\n

Plus, since I was away from home, I felt even more envious, you know?<\/p>\n

But I didn't go home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Quite simply,\"I thought that was normal, and I enjoyed my busy days.\"<\/strong>From.<\/p>\n

There really wasn't any basis for that, lol.<\/p>\n

It just means I was stupid.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I was just a vague, foolish person, so I was too busy getting through the tasks right in front of me to have any time to think.<\/p>\n

And now, looking back, I realize that being so busy back then was the right choice.<\/p>\n

I think a lot of the friends I used to hang out with back then are going through a pretty rough time right now. (I don\u2019t know for sure since I haven\u2019t been in touch with them lately.)<\/p>\n

Thanks to the efforts I put in back then, I now have my own company, do work I love, run in the mountains whenever I want, and get to work in the countries I love.<\/p>\n

Here are the results.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That said, being a business owner is a total pain in the ass, lol.<\/p>\n

I think this is a job only a true masochist could do...<\/p>\n

\"Past\"<\/p>\n

Strictness isn't a bad thing.<\/h2>\n

I'm not saying you should \"hit\" or \"yell,\" mind you.<\/p>\n

I never said a word about engaging in workplace harassment.<\/p>\n

However,The Right Amount of Discipline Helps People Grow<\/strong>That's the thing.<\/p>\n

People don't grow just by hearing \"It's okay\" when they fail.<\/p>\n

\"Why did that happen? What should we do next?\"<\/p>\n

It's because there are people who push us to think that we start to think.<\/p>\n

We grow because we\u2019re made to realize things.<\/strong><\/p>\n

People who have been raised solely on kindness crumble when they hit a wall.<\/p>\n

People who have experienced hardship know how to overcome obstacles when they encounter them.<\/p>\n

This difference comes up time and time again throughout life.<\/p>\n

I, myself, have been yelled at like crazy by quite a few senior colleagues and bosses in the past.<\/p>\n

There were a lot of unfair things, too. (I still really hate that jerk of a boss, lol.)<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There have been countless times when I\u2019ve thought, \u201cWhy does this always happen to me?\u201d<\/p>\n

But you know,Looking back now, it\u2019s because of that strictness that I am who I am today.<\/strong>That's what I think.<\/p>\n

If it weren't for the people who scolded me back then, I wonder what would have become of me by now.<\/p>\n

I might have ended up following the same path as the friends I used to play with back then.<\/p>\n

\"Master<\/p>\n

Maybe my way of thinking is outdated.<\/p>\n

Maybe it's just out of step with the times.<\/p>\n

But you know,The essence of human growth has remained unchanged throughout history.<\/strong>That's what I think.<\/p>\n

Toughened by adversity, overcoming injustice\u2014the strength you gain from these experiences will last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

Time spent in lukewarm water leaves nothing behind.<\/p>\n

Kids between the ages of 20 and 39<\/p>\n

\"The environment you find challenging right now is the best investment you can make in your future self.\"<\/strong>That's the thing.<\/p>\n

For those who came after that, this is the result of what has happened so far. Accept it and make an effort to build on it!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

It's easy to run away.<\/p>\n

It's easy to quit, too.<\/p>\n

But what lies ahead?<\/p>\n

The fact that you're gritting your teeth and doing your best right now will definitely help you 10 or 20 years from now.<\/p>\n

I've experienced this firsthand.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That's why I can say this with confidence.<\/p>\n

Don't run away from hardship.<\/p>\n

That hardship will make you a person with a spirit that no one can match.<\/p>\n
