This is Enta.<\/p>\n

Lately, there's really been an increase in malicious traffic to our company's website, lol.<\/p>\n

The chart below shows the traffic analytics data for our website.<\/p>\n

Since our website isn't designed for an international audience, that's probably why the connection originates in the U.S.<\/p>\n

Is it just a matter of time before our website gets hacked and vandalized too? lol<\/p>\n

\"Access<\/p>\n

It seems I'm getting about 3,000 attacks every week\u2014is that normal? I'm currently at about 25,000.<\/p>\n

It seems that most visitors to our site are mainly here to download templates, and,<\/p>\n

It also seems to be used when explaining what slope stabilization and anchor installation work entail.<\/p>\n

And as I looked into it further, I discovered that there are quite a few people in the same situation as me.<\/p>\n

I wonder if there's any benefit to that?? lol I can kind of see why it would make sense for banks or government agencies, though...<\/p>\n

You never know what might happen in this world. It's a scary place.<\/p>\n

For now, I've gone all out to strengthen security on our site.<\/p>\n

As expected, when you\u2019re sharing information every day, you start to become more attuned to things like this.<\/p>\n

If this gets me hacked, I don't even care anymore lol<\/p>\n

That said, it seems other sites out there are under even heavier attack, so ours is just the tip of the iceberg.<\/p>\n

\"Hacking<\/p>\n

People often use company servers\u2014like intranets\u2014to prevent company information from leaking, right?<\/p>\n

I had a bit of that at my previous company, too.<\/p>\n

Things like \"Don't bring in USB drives\" or \"Don't install free software.\"<\/p>\n

Actually, this is a measure designed to prevent infection by information-gathering programs.<\/p>\n

I, too, used to think that our company didn't have any documents that important.<\/p>\n

That's certainly true.<\/p>\n

From my perspective at the time, the document data that a regular employee like me had access to wasn't anything special.<\/p>\n

However, hackers couldn't care less about the Excel template I created.<\/p>\n

I couldn't care less about monthly financial statements worth tens of millions.<\/p>\n

It's way, way further back.<\/p>\n

Things like the company's financial situation and stuff like that.<\/p>\n

This might be even more valuable information. I want information that can be used to blackmail companies for profit.<\/p>\n

\"IT<\/p>\n

You know how people talk a lot about \u201cIT literacy\u201d these days, right?<\/p>\n

Whether someone's IT literacy is low or high. Or if they're tech-illiterate, lol.<\/p>\n

If it's low, it might be because you're using the same password for everything or posting it on social media.<\/p>\n

Why Low IT Literacy Puts Your Family at Risk<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

These days, personal information is also extremely important.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been told that there have been cases where personal information wasn\u2019t easily stolen.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

It just kept spreading and spreading, and things got completely out of hand.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s actually incredibly easy to manipulate information online. I\u2019m sure you\u2019re generally aware of that.<\/p>\n

It's the same with rumors in the neighborhood. People hear things that are completely unfounded and end up believing them.<\/p>\n

If we don't use IT properly, malicious individuals will find endless ways to exploit it.<\/p>\n

SoWe recommend changing your smartphone password frequently, if possible, as a precaution.<\/span><\/strong>That's it!<\/p>\n

In my case, there\u2019s a password generator website I use often, so I create my passwords there.<\/p>\n

After all, if you decide on a password yourself, you\u2019ll end up creating one that follows a set pattern.<\/p>\n

So, on those kinds of sites, I use the strongest possible passwords.<\/p>\n

People often say, \u201cI just can\u2019t seem to remember it,\u201d don\u2019t they?<\/p>\n

That's right. It's just too much of a hassle, so I'm just sticking it somewhere to keep track of it. (The enemy of digital is analog, lol.)<\/p>\n

Trying to memorize it is a waste of effort, so the best approach is to manage it properly and either copy and paste or type it in directly, lol.<\/p>\n

So, even though this post was about something completely different from slope stabilization,<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve reached a point where construction managers need to exercise great care when managing PCs.<\/p>\n

We live in an age where even information that\u2019s surprisingly insignificant can be bought and sold with ease. Knowing how to protect yourself is also crucial.<\/p>\n
