(So, are we just being made to stamp documents prepared by a branch office?)<\/p>\n<hr data-path-to-node=\"27\" \/>\n<h3 data-path-to-node=\"28\">So, what should the field staff do?<\/h3>\n<h4 data-path-to-node=\"30\">I won't sign it unless the price is \"fair\"!<\/h4>\n<ul data-path-to-node=\"31\">\n<li>When a general contractor reviews a subcontractor\u2019s quote and thinks, \u201cThat\u2019s way too cheap,\u201d they should actually be concerned for the subcontractor. Saying, \u201cYou\u2019ll be operating at a loss at this rate. Please recalculate your numbers,\u201d is what defines a \u201ctop-tier company\u201d going forward.<\/li>\n<li>Let\u2019s stop telling subcontractors, \u201cI just want the job, so I\u2019ll quote a low price for now\u2026\u201d Instead, carefully calculate your company\u2019s costs (especially labor costs!) and confidently state, \u201cWe can\u2019t do this for less than this amount!\u201d The law is on your side!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-path-to-node=\"32\">Let's all work together to \"change our mindset\"!<\/h4>\n<p>It\u2019s not enough for just the president to know. Site supervisors, salespeople, and foremen need to know, too.<\/p>\n<p>\"I hear that making promises you can't keep is illegal.\"<\/p>\n<p>Let's work together to create that kind of atmosphere throughout the entire company.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"34\">If you\u2019re ever faced with an unreasonable demand, there\u2019s a reporting hotline at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (it\u2019s like a safe haven), so,<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"34\">Please don't try to handle this all by yourself.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"34\">That said, this is where the construction industry gets tricky!
