I've been in Nepal for the past few days for job interviews.<\/p>\n
The streets of Nepal haven't changed much\u2014and sure enough, still no traffic lights! lol<\/p>\n
It seems cars and motorcycles can go wherever they want.<\/p>\n
It's very simple: in the event of an accident, the vehicle at fault bears the greater responsibility!<\/p>\n
I hear that if they're about the same, it causes a fight lol<\/p>\n
Here in Nepal, we\u2019re conducting interviews for technical intern trainees.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
While it\u2019s quite common these days to conduct interviews online via Zoom or similar platforms without actually going to the location, I generally conduct all my interviews in person.<\/p>\n
I really want to hire someone who can give me a sense of what life is like there and the local atmosphere.<\/p>\n
If possible, I\u2019d love to do home visits, too!!<\/p>\n

Up until recently, they didn't even hold interviews\u2014they just judged people based on their physical strength, lol.<\/p>\n
That said, I thought I was just watching how hard they tried and how they handled failure, but starting this time, I\u2019ll be doing proper interviews and asking questions lol<\/p>\n
(I might get in trouble for this, but the kid I hired just because he had a funny face turned out to be a total idiot.) Lessons Learned from the Past and Employee Opposition<\/p>\n

During the interview, we\u2019ll ask questions designed to assess your character.<\/p>\n
Questions that reveal how others (the group) perceive your honesty.<\/p>\n
Of course, I'll use AI to create the questions.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It's really handy in situations like this.<\/p>\n
We rank the answers and assign scores to evaluate them.<\/p>\n
From now on, AI will definitely be the one evaluating people.<\/p>\n
I also think we\u2019re definitely moving toward a human resources system where AI is used to assign scores.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Using AI like this makes things a little more convenient, doesn't it?<\/p>\n
You can easily and quickly create Excel worksheets, too.<\/p>\n
I emailed that to the company, and that was it.<\/p>\n
These are good times.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s possible that our conversations might be analyzed by AI in the future...<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Starting tomorrow, I think I'll try writing a blog about the charms of Nepal and the character of its people.<\/p>\n
Also, including Nepal's economic situation.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On the floor below where I was conducting my interview, they were interviewing interns bound for Dubai.<\/p>\n
It's very interesting, especially given the height restrictions and other factors.<\/p>\n
But one thing I do think is that Japan\u2019s trainee program really does go overboard in protecting its trainees, lol.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a good thing from a human rights perspective, but I wonder if it\u2019s really applicable on a global scale? (It seems that interns around the world face even harsher conditions.)<\/p>\n
This is one of those moments when I really realize that Japan is such a laid-back country, lol (though I do like Japan this way, though ^^).<\/p>\n
