A Story About a Girls' Bar in Nagoya<\/p>\n

There are lots of girls soliciting customers on the street and independent street promoters in Nagoya\u2019s entertainment district.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Basically, almost all of them are rip-offs, so if you're reading this blog, make sure you don't go with them!<\/p>\n
I'm totally fine with izakayas, but places with girls are a no-go.<\/p>\n
If you're ever out for drinks in Nagoya's Nishiki district, either ask someone you know to introduce you to a place, or send me an email lol.<\/p>\n
I won't accompany you, but I can recommend some safe places.<\/p>\n

So, when it comes to the prices at those girls' bars, they generally have a reputation for being really cheap, right?<\/p>\n
That's right. The cover charge is super cheap.<\/p>\n
Cover charge: 3,000 yen<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n This area hasn't changed at all since the old days, has it? (I haven't been there more than a few times, so I'm not really sure.)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Girls' bars have become quite well-known these days, haven't they?<\/p>\n This is especially true given that some pretty serious incidents have occurred in this industry.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n And speaking of money,<\/p>\n One drink for a woman costs 8,000 yen<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n And then, for some reason, when it came time to pay...TAX30%!!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n (\"Tax\" refers to the service charge.)<\/p>\n I know some of you might not quite understand this, but,<\/p>\n For example, I\u2019ll just walk into a girls\u2019 bar and take a seat.<\/p>\n At that stage, 3,000 yen to start with<\/p>\n Girl: \"Can I have a glass?\"<\/p>\n Slope Worker: \"Sure.\" *grins*<\/p>\n Girl: \"Thank you. I'd like some oolong tea, please~\"<\/p>\n A small cup of oolong tea is served.<\/p>\n Slope Worker: \"Mmm, mmm~\" *grins*<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At this stage,<\/p>\n 3,000 yen + 8,000 yen + 30% tax = 14,300 yen<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n If you were to pay by credit card instead of cash here,<\/p>\n A 10% to 20% credit card processing fee will be added to this lol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Suppose the bar is slow, and three girls come in and ask, \u201cCan we have a drink?\u201d If they each have three drinks, that comes to 24,000 yen.<\/p>\n That really freaks me out, lol.<\/p>\n That's how bad it is.<\/p>\n You might all think this is impossible, but it's true lol<\/p>\n It might be even more expensive if you go to Tokyo or Osaka.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As a countermeasure, if you just say, \u201cGo drink some water,\u201d it\u2019ll only cost you 3,000 yen, but the girls will all turn on you in an instant.<\/p>\n If you're going to talk about customer service, you've got to pay for it, lol. Especially at nightclubs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Actually, if you're going to a place like that, you're better off going to a snack bar!<\/p>\n There are some high-end clubs, but they're expensive! Way too expensive!!!<\/p>\n For an old guy like me, snack bars are definitely the best. Other than that, it\u2019s drinking at home.<\/p>\n I think things like this are going to become more and more common in the future.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Here are the bankruptcy trends through June of this year.<\/p>\n People have been saying that we\u2019ll easily surpass last year\u2019s figures, and we\u2019ve already surpassed them.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, bars have been closing left and right, the number of customers has been dropping, prices have been skyrocketing, and the number of rip-off establishments\u2014like girls\u2019 bars\u2014has been on the rise.<\/p>\n It's an industry where there's no such thing as trust\u2014it's all about making a quick buck.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We're seeing more and more of these kinds of stories in the construction industry as well.<\/p>\n The number of scammers\u2014such as those involved in roofing tile scams and home renovation scams\u2014who try to swindle people out of their money in a single blow is steadily increasing.<\/p>\n It's definitely going to increase even more from here on out!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Statistics show that crimes like this tend to increase when the economy takes a turn for the worse.<\/p>\n It could happen to us as public-sector entities as well.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Invoices for work that isn't in the design or wasn't contracted for?!<\/p>\n Like, \"I got hurt on purpose\" (that used to happen a lot back in the day)<\/p>\n It looks like we're heading toward a world where there will be more and more of those troublemakers who walk the fine line between legality and crime...<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We can't compete with contractors who quote ridiculously low prices right off the bat, but I wonder what the general contractor's plans will be going forward.<\/p>\n I have a feeling there are going to be more and more strange things happening from now on.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Let's all be careful, too.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n See you later.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hello, everyone.
