When I checked with other Nepalese people, they said they do learn it in school, but it seems some people might not actually practice it...<\/p>\n

Even though I thought that, there are plenty of Japanese people who say things like that, so I figured, \u201cWell, I guess I\u2019ll just teach them then.\u201d<\/p>\n
At that time, I was learning about length while using a caliper.<\/p>\n
Now I don't know how to use a caliper!!!!!!!<\/p>\n

How to Use Each Unit.<\/p>\n

In civil engineering in Japan, the units mm, cm, and m are used.<\/p>\n
Sometimes in millimeters, sometimes in centimeters, sometimes in meters.<\/p>\n
How you use it depends on the time and situation, but<\/p>\n
For long distances, we use meters; for relatively short distances, centimeters; and for measuring small objects, millimeters.<\/p>\n

A tape measure is used to measure long distances, and the unit of measurement when using a tape measure is the meter.<\/p>\n
If you use millimeters or centimeters at this point, you\u2019re more likely to make a mistake.<\/p>\n
When measuring the area during our slope construction work, we use a tape measure to take measurements in meters.<\/p>\n
For example, let's say 10.53 m. That's 1,553 cm or 15,530 mm.<\/p>\n
It gets a little harder to follow as the numbers increase, doesn't it?<\/p>\n
If it's over 10 meters, that's 10,000 mm!! It's hard to wrap your head around!!<\/p>\n
So, use \"m\" for longer distances.<\/p>\n

Convex Rule (commonly known as \"Convex\") (also known as \"Scale\")<\/p>\n
Use this when measuring distances of 6 meters or less.<\/p>\n
At this point, many people use either meters or centimeters, depending on the person.<\/p>\n
Of course, it can measure in millimeters, so some people refer to it in millimeters.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s fine to use units and expressions that are easy for you to understand, but it\u2019s better if you can instantly convert units no matter what units are used.<\/p>\n

For example, 1 cm is 0.01 m. 1 cm is 10 mm.<\/p>\n
