On a construction site, there are times when you just have to use a certain method, right?<\/p>\n
Or, to put it another way, is it something that can only be done using that method, or is it just that your company stands to make a profit if you use that method? lol<\/p>\n
So, with the mindset of \u201cThis is the method we\u2019re going with!\u201d, we\u2019ll submit the change request to the city office.<\/p>\n

However, the response from the government official wasThe government office has never done this before!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n ...and it bounces right back.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n To begin with, even if a project is registered with NETIS, we\u2019re told there\u2019s no precedent for it.<\/p>\n I guess you're talking about that city or town, but why??<\/p>\n So that's how it is, right?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I gathered up our project history\u2014including project names, construction photos, and quantities\u2014and explained it all in great detail,<\/p>\n In the end, it just ends up being a case with no precedent, lol.<\/p>\n So what are we supposed to do, then?<\/p>\n When it comes down to that, people sometimes say, \u201cHmmmm\u2026 what should we do?\u201d lol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n If construction cannot proceed based on the original design, we have no choice but to make changes; however, please explain (in the discussion materials) why construction cannot proceed based on the original design.<\/p>\n And, it would be great if we could make the design changes successfully, but then the government agencies would be like, \u201cSo what exactly was the original design?\u201d lol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Well, I guess there's nothing to be done about it.<\/p>\n Sometimes even the designer doesn't know why the design can't be implemented.<\/p>\n Sometimes, even the construction team won\u2019t know until they actually try it out and adjust the plan accordingly.<\/p>\n Plus, sometimes there\u2019s no profit, lol (or maybe the manufacturer is just making too much money behind the scenes...)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n But is it really right to say there's no precedent for this?? lol<\/p>\n I suppose the government wants to proceed cautiously, but why not just set a precedent starting with this case!?<\/p>\n That's what I think, lol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n After all, from the contractor\u2019s perspective, we\u2019re responsible for carrying out the work properly.<\/p>\n It\u2019s not like I\u2019m going to put something half-baked in there, though.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I think there are probably a lot of engineers who feel that way.<\/p>\n Even when there are good alternative construction methods available, the industry often ends up using outdated methods that are no longer suitable for the times.<\/p>\n Because there's no precedent...<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Other than that, maybe it\u2019s got something to do with the power dynamics of the construction method? lol (There are all kinds of reasons, so just figure it out lol)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I really wish the government would make a few more improvements in this area, though\u2014\u2014\u2014\u2014!!<\/p>\n What do you all think?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n See you later.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hello, everyone.
