The other day, I was thinking about what makes a good director and a bad director.<\/p>\n

Let's think about what makes a good coach and a bad coach.<\/a><\/p>\n

Well, this time it's the opposite, lol.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to take a moment to think about what makes a good craftsman and a bad one.<\/p>\n

\"Artisan\"<\/p>\n

This is by no means intended to refer to any specific individual; I am simply writing about my personal thoughts and what I believe a director would think.<\/p>\n

Whether you're a director or a craftsman, both have their good and bad points. (We're only human, after all.)<\/p>\n

If we keep building on our strengths and minimizing our weaknesses, that would be good for both of us, wouldn't it?<\/p>\n

I hope this will be of some help in improving construction work.<\/p>\n

Well then, let's get started! ^^<\/p>\n

\u2705<\/strong>Characteristics of a Good Craftsman<\/h3>\n

  1. Highly skilled<\/strong>: We possess specialized skills and experience, and provide high-quality work.<\/li>\n
  2. Reliability<\/strong>: Uphold commitments regarding deadlines and quality, and carry out work responsibly.<\/li>\n
  3. Communication Skills<\/strong>: Communicate effectively with the supervisor and other tradespeople and work together to solve problems.<\/li>\n
  4. Flexibility<\/strong>: Possesses the adaptability to handle changes and last-minute instructions.<\/li>\n
  5. Safety Awareness<\/strong>: Strictly follow safety rules and always consider your own safety and that of those around you.<\/li>\n
  6. Teamwork<\/strong>: Work together as part of the team to maintain a positive atmosphere on the job site.<\/li>\n
  7. Self-Management Skills<\/strong>: Keep your workspace organized and work in a systematic manner.<\/li>\n
  8. Rating: Very humble<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \u274c <\/strong>Characteristics of a Poor Craftsman<\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. Lack of technical expertise<\/strong>: The work is of poor quality due to a lack of necessary skills and knowledge.<\/li>\n
    2. Lacks reliability<\/strong>: Failing to meet deadlines or quality standards, and shirking responsibility.<\/li>\n
    3. Lack of Communication<\/strong>: Instructions are unclear, or problems are not reported even when they arise.<\/li>\n
    4. Stubborn<\/strong>: They are resistant to new methods and technologies and refuse to adapt to change. (This might be the most troublesome part.)<\/li>\n
    5. Disregard for Safety Rules<\/strong>: Failing to follow safety rules increases the risk of accidents.<\/li>\n
    6. Acting Alone<\/strong>: Fails to cooperate with the team and insists on personal opinions or methods.<\/li>\n
    7. Unplanned<\/strong>: Work is not carried out in a systematic manner and involves a lot of waste.<\/li>\n
    8. Rating: Considering how high their self-assessment is...<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      I guess this is what it looks like from the director's perspective? lol<\/p>\n

      What do you all think?<\/p>\n

      I'm sure there are all sorts of ways to feel and think about this.<\/p>\n

      What should a craftsman who isn't very good at his job do? Stay humble, communicate effectively, and work as hard as possible!<\/p>\n

      Just this alone makes a big difference.<\/p>\n

      After all, the director is only human.<\/p>\n

      I just don't want to work with a stubborn, annoying craftsman lol<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

      In that case, even if they work a little slower, I\u2019d rather work with a craftsman who\u2019s meticulous and kind!<\/p>\n

      This is a must.<\/p>\n

      Would you want to work with someone who's incredibly loud?<\/p>\n

      No one likes work that\u2019s rushed and sloppy, right? (It\u2019s the supervisor who has a hard time during inspections.)<\/p>\n

      It\u2019s better to be thorough, even if it takes a little longer! (I prefer thoroughness over speed.)<\/p>\n

      This is what I think a skilled craftsman looks like!<\/p>\n
