This is a product called the \"Plaras Net.\"<\/p>\n
The other day, a sales rep from Maeda Kosen came by our office and left this behind lol<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A key feature of this product is that it is made of polypropylene.<\/p>\n
It's the same as the PP rope we often use.<\/p>\n
That's why it's fluffy and light.<\/p>\n
I use it as a mesh net, and it's super light.<\/p>\n

It weighs one-fifth as much as a standard wire mesh.<\/p>\n
Can I just toss it down from the top of the slope to set it up?<\/p>\n
Apparently, it's that light\u2014like, \"Whoa!\" lol<\/p>\n

I think it adheres better than wire mesh.<\/p>\n
Even at first glance or to the touch, it\u2019s clear that it has plenty of surface area.<\/p>\n

One thing that concerns me is: what if this area absorbs moisture too quickly when the mortar is sprayed on?<\/p>\n
What happens when you\u2019re working on a cold day with temperatures below freezing? (I know people will probably say, \u201cYou shouldn\u2019t be working at all,\u201d but we\u2019re going to do it anyway, right? lol)<\/p>\n
What if it absorbs moisture from the rain?<\/p>\n

There are a few other points that concern me, but,<\/p>\n
Since this type of mesh doesn't require much strength to begin with, I think PP would be fine.<\/p>\n
As for cracks, it looks like there will be fewer of them.<\/p>\n
Since it conforms to cracks in both vertical and horizontal directions with a structure similar to that of fiber strands, it appears to be highly effective in that regard.<\/p>\n

It seems this product is more commonly used on acidic soil than on regular mountains.<\/p>\n
Because it doesn't corrode.<\/p>\n
That's what I thought, but if it doesn't need to be strong in the first place, then even if it rots...<\/p>\n
