A major safety conference was held the other day.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Going to safety meetings is a hassle, but I actually kind of like them.<\/p>\n
There are many interesting and fascinating aspects to it.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On the other hand, there are some parts where I wonder, \u201cDon\u2019t we really need this anymore?\u201d<\/p>\n
I suppose it\u2019s important, but the part I think is unnecessary is the incidence rate of accidents.<\/p>\n
I don't think there's practically anyone who actually understands terms like \"frequency rate\" or \"intensity rate,\" lol.<\/p>\n
Even if the construction manager heard that...<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Wouldn't it be better to ask about that company's accident rate instead?<\/p>\n
For example, what about that company\u2019s rate of falls from heights?<\/p>\n
Be especially careful in [Month], as there will be [XX] more cases of heatstroke.<\/p>\n
Like, \"Be careful because there are a lot of traffic accidents in [month]\"?<\/p>\n

At safety meetings, one of the most interesting things is that every now and then, safety measures are presented that aren\u2019t just run-of-the-mill but are actually quite ingenious.<\/p>\n
There are some things that make you think, \"Wow, this is really well thought out\u2014I love it!\"<\/p>\n
That really piques my interest, and if I see the product I was using back then listed online, I\u2019d buy it right away.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m really excited about this because I want to invest heavily in safety facilities and equipment.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s really helpful and great when you see things like, \u201cHere\u2019s what to do in this situation,\u201d \u201cUse this,\u201d or \u201cThis costs this much on Amazon!\u201d<\/p>\n

And then there's the lecture.<\/p>\n
The lectures featuring various professional speakers are very interesting.<\/p>\n
This is the part where your good judgment really comes into play, depending on who you decide to invite, lol.<\/p>\n
The most interesting thing I\u2019ve ever experienced was a safety lecture given by a rakugo storyteller.<\/p>\n
As expected, he\u2019s here to make us laugh, so it\u2019s a lot of fun\u2014and what\u2019s more, he uses language that\u2019s familiar to us, making us think, \u201cA rakugo performer actually knows words like this?!\u201d<\/p>\n
Just as I was thinking that, I heard that the safety officer had actually given instructions beforehand.<\/p>\n
It was such a well-crafted talk\u2014I really enjoyed it.<\/p>\n

While also recognizing that this is an important opportunity to encourage people to give serious thought to safety awareness,<\/p>\n
I think you should just have as much fun as you can.<\/p>\n
After all, it\u2019s easier to focus on happy memories.<\/p>\n
How can we make safety awareness fun and eliminate unsafe practices?<\/p>\n
I\u2019d also like it to be in a format that makes it easy for participants to distribute once they return to their own companies.<\/p>\n
For example, something that\u2019s been organized into easy-to-understand data. (To be posted on the internal chat.)<\/p>\n
It would be better to distribute the materials from the safety meeting to all employees of the construction company to ensure everyone is aware of them, wouldn't it?<\/p>\n

Up until now, whenever I attended a safety meeting where they\u2019d say, \u201cThis is tough,\u201d and make us watch something that looked like a skit performed by employees, I honestly thought, \u201cWhat is this?\u201d lol<\/p>\n
I'm sure the people participating had fun, but for the rest of us who were just forced to watch without understanding what was going on, it was a safety meeting where we were left in the dark lol<\/p>\n
And to be honest, nobody really cares about updates on current projects or stories about past ones.<\/p>\n
Unless our company is involved, no one else (other companies) is interested, right?<\/p>\n
It just seems like they're trying to pad the runtime lol<\/p>\n

We will continue to participate in various companies' safety conferences this year as well.<\/p>\n
