The other day, I went to the Construction Technology Fair 2023 in Chubu.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It was the first day, but there were so many people!<\/p>\n
Well, since it\u2019s held every year, there weren\u2019t really any new technologies to speak of, lol.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That said, as I watch construction methods and materials change little by little in this way amid the constant progress of our times,<\/p>\n
I feel like I'm witnessing technological change.<\/p>\n
That said, most of the time it\u2019s so subtle that I can\u2019t really tell, lol.<\/p>\n

I was so happy to see that salt sensor I've been talking about for quite a while!<\/p>\n
I keep thinking, \u201cHow long are you going to keep using Cantab?!\u201d so this product caught my eye lol<\/p>\n

However, if someone who knows the details explains it, I can understand it just fine, but,<\/p>\n
Since exhibitions like this have a significant sales component, hearing explanations from people who don't really understand the subject leaves me scratching my head...<\/p>\n
That happens quite often.<\/p>\n
They try their best to explain it, but there are bound to be some discrepancies with the actual on-site techniques, lol.<\/p>\n

Also being held at the same time is \u201cChubu Lifeguard TEC 2023\u2014Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Crisis Management Expo\u2014<\/strong>\u300d<\/p>\n There were also many interesting exhibits, such as displays of emergency food supplies.<\/p>\n There were exhibits of Self-Defense Forces rations and other items, along with tasting events. (I didn't try any, though.)<\/p>\n This time, there\u2019s material from just one company that interests me, and I feel like there might be something we can do moving forward with its development.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n I was also hoping to see a crawler crane from Maeda Manufacturing, but all they had was a crab crane lol.<\/p>\n For some reason, I've been thinking lately that I'd really like a crawler crane, and,<\/p>\n I just thought I'd take a look at the latest model.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n What I hate most about these kinds of trade shows is when salespeople block my path right in front of me\u2014it really gets on my nerves lol.<\/p>\n Well, I guess sales is just part of the job, so it can\u2019t be helped, but even when I say, \u201cI don\u2019t need it,\u201d the way they keep pushing so hard is...<\/p>\n Even though I told them we're in different industries, they still wanted to exchange business cards, lol<\/p>\n I ran away, thinking, \u201cEven though it\u2019s the same field of civil engineering, it\u2019s a completely different world in a different industry\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Well, that said, the great thing about trade shows like this is that they open up new possibilities for applying technologies from other industries to your own.<\/p>\n After all, there are times when unfamiliar materials or construction methods turn out to be a good fit.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n We spent about two hours looking around and then headed straight home.<\/p>\n Thank you to the few people who came up to talk to me at the venue.<\/p>\n When someone calls out \u201cEnta-san!\u201d in a place where I think no one knows me, it makes me jump lol<\/p>\n But I'm really happy.<\/p>\n Everyone, if you see me somewhere in the future, please say hi ^^<\/p>\n <\/p>\n See you later.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hello, everyone.
