We have been carrying out dewatering drilling work since a few days ago.<\/p>\n
I've been busy lately, so I'll be heading out to the site for an operation, but,<\/p>\n
Unlike in August, the temperatures have cooled down quite a bit, so I feel much more comfortable.<\/p>\n
This is the best time of year, isn't it?<\/p>\n
Let's be careful on our way there!<\/p>\n
But that's beside the point.<\/p>\n

When I'm installing anchors, I often get tripped up by sandy silt, lol.<\/p>\n
The reason is that it's so tightly packed that if you hit it with a hammer, the tip gets clogged.<\/p>\n

On the first day, I got stuck a few times on the very first run and had to retrieve my inner line.<\/p>\n
I was more careful starting with the second one, so I was able to drill the holes without any trouble.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
As is usually the case on any set, I\u2019m always very careful with the very first take.<\/p>\n
And things just aren't moving forward, are they?<\/p>\n
Sometimes, if you go into something thinking it'll be a piece of cake, things can turn out really badly, so,<\/p>\n
I proceed cautiously, but even so, there are still some minor issues.<\/p>\n
This is particularly likely to occur the longer the drilling length is.<\/p>\n
Even though I was pretty careful the other day since it was an anchor just under 30 meters, I still got stuck. (Well, I guess it\u2019s partly my skill, though. lol)<\/p>\n

Clay and silt are really a pain when it comes to ground anchor work.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s kind of annoying when that sort of thing becomes the norm, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n
I do wonder, \u201cIs the circumferential friction really going to be okay??\u201d, and I do get a little anxious when it comes to setting, but,<\/p>\n
If I can get just one to take root, I\u2019ll feel a little more at ease. (Well, in the end, the injection of the free length makes it less likely to fall out anyway.)<\/p>\n

Although there is some margin built into the design, so I think it should be fine, there are many cases where it doesn't work out.<\/p>\n
You need to be especially careful when the bedding layer is clay. (Be sure to inject the grout immediately after drilling.)<\/p>\n
And pressure injection definitely doesn't work, lol (especially with clay and silt).<\/p>\n
(I\u2019m fundamentally against pressure therapy, and I think that if you\u2019re going to apply pressure, it\u2019s pointless to relieve it afterward. But I\u2019ll go ahead and do it during treatment, just for the sake of it, lol.)<\/p>\n

Clay and silt layers can be quite a challenge in ground anchor construction, in more ways than one.<\/p>\n
Once you figure out the right balance of force (between your favorite character and the hammer), things will go smoothly, so you just have to be patient until you find it, lol.<\/p>\n

Well, if you want the easiest way to drill a hole, you can do it effortlessly by using a large piston pump and plenty of water.<\/p>\n
I think a Koken Kogyo MG-10 or higher should be sufficient for drilling.<\/p>\n
Lately I've been using a pressure washer and a compressor, but nothing beats the power of water, huh? ^^<\/p>\n
