But isn't it actually quite common for machines to be unsuitable for the job site?<\/p>\n

The concept\u2014or rather, the approach\u2014to selecting machinery for this drilling job is something only the contractor really understands, isn't it?<\/p>\n

In the past, equipment was selected by consulting major companies, and to some extent, the selection was influenced by a desire to accommodate those companies. (Well, that\u2019s still the case for specialized construction projects.)<\/p>\n

I don't know if it's because we're now using market prices and don't really take that into account anymore, but the machines really aren't suited for the job site, lol.<\/p>\n

A prime example of this is the rotary drilling machine.<\/p>\n

Well, it\u2019s not impossible, but to drill a single 60-meter hole with a rotary drilling machine, I\u2019m guessing that\u2014<\/p>\n

Under good conditions, I think it's at least one week per piece.<\/p>\n

And since this is a dual-borehole drilling operation, we\u2019ll need to install casing\u2014what do you think?<\/p>\n

It'll take a little longer.<\/p>\n

With the rotary percussion drill we use, drilling 60 meters takes about 1.5 days (assuming good mountain conditions).<\/p>\n

Since it comes with a hammer, you can just hammer away to drill holes\u2014of course it\u2019s fast.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how off the machine selection is in some places.<\/p>\n

I'm thinking of creating a workflow for machine selection next.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, it'd be a hassle for us to make design changes, lol.<\/p>\n

If the right machine had been chosen from the start, it would have saved a lot of effort, wouldn't it?<\/p>\n
