Methods for Lifting a Drilling Rig onto a Slope (Part 2)<\/a><\/p>\n Methods for Lifting a Drilling Rig onto a Slope (Part 3)<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n In previous posts, I wrote about transportation using mobile cranes and cableways (logging skids).<\/p>\n This time, it's the monorail.<\/p>\n It's that thing farmers use to haul things like mandarin oranges, lol.<\/p>\n It is a transport vehicle capable of carrying loads of approximately 500 kg, even for small items, and<\/p>\n In the case of slope construction, they are often installed around the perimeter of the slope being constructed.<\/p>\n However, the maximum incline for all manufacturers is around 45 degrees.<\/p>\n For that reason, depending on the shape and topography of the mountains, we often have to take a considerable detour to reach the site.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There may also be cases where you can only go as far as the outer edge of the slope or its immediate vicinity,<\/p>\n It\u2019s often the case that I can\u2019t get as close as I\u2019d like.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n At rebar insertion job sites, single-rail models with a maximum load capacity of 500 kg are the most common.<\/p>\n We'll load the machinery onto the vehicle and drive it to the site.<\/p>\n We'll set up scaffolding next to the monorail's terminal station and use it to move the machinery laterally to the construction site.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are various types of monorails from a variety of manufacturers, but<\/p>\n Generally speaking, you can think of it this way: the load capacity varies depending on the number of rails\u2014whether it\u2019s a single-axle, double-axle, or triple-axle configuration.<\/p>\n It also comes with optional features such as a dump function and a crane function.<\/p>\n (I'm freaking out over the insanely high lease payments lol)<\/p>\n Transportation by monorail tends to look easier than by cable car, but it\u2019s actually quite challenging.<\/p>\n There are a lot of single-axle rails in particular, but since the width of the rear bogie is about 600 mm, the machine sticks out a bit lol.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n This is true for monorail companies of any manufacturer\u2014they only clear enough space for the monorail to pass through, so<\/p>\n It often happens that, based on the assumption that as long as the monorail can pass through\u2014even if there are obstructing trees\u2014it\u2019s fine, the drilling machine can\u2019t get through.<\/p>\n If you're bringing a drilling rig up a mountain with a lot of standing trees, as long as there's at least about 1.2 meters of width, you should be able to manage to some extent.<\/p>\n When transporting long pieces of scaffolding material, it\u2019s easier to navigate curves if the material is of a certain width, and<\/p>\n It also makes it much easier to work when laying out materials such as hoses for spray application at the base of the rails.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since transporting goods via monorail involves many risks, clearing the area around the tracks is<\/p>\n I recommend choosing a wider model, as it provides a broader field of view and reduces the risk of accidents.<\/p>\n Ideally, I\u2019d like the design team to specify that trees be cut down in an area at least twice the width of the monorail\u2019s cargo platform.<\/p>\n That way, it\u2019ll be easier to cut the tree without having to move the obstructing tree first.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since we occasionally use crab cranes or transport vehicles even on the monorail,<\/p>\n It would be really thoughtful if they factored that into the design, wouldn't it? lol<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since there are various ways to handle situations on-site depending on the circumstances, I\u2019m not sure which one is the right answer, but<\/p>\n I think the right approach is to use the method that allows for the safest possible construction.<\/p>\n But striking a balance between cost and safety is important, isn't it?<\/p>\n But it's way too expensive, isn't it?<\/p>\n However, even with these specified temporary measures in place, there are many gaps that are difficult to identify during the design phase, so<\/p>\n I get the feeling that the general contractor also has to cover a lot of the costs out of pocket.<\/p>\n I think selecting designated temporary housing is particularly difficult.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As I've written over the course of four posts, this is how slope-construction and anchor-installation companies transport their machinery.<\/p>\n There are also machines that climb mountains using wires, but they're way too unusual, lol.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n See you later.<\/p>\n Drilling Machine Rail Repair Completed | Maintenance Log<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n![\"Monorail\"](\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/bb08d585920402c88a21f465686e547d.jpg\")
