This is actually about the machinery used by our subcontractors, lol.<\/p>\n

When I was working at a branch office, I didn't really think about things like that very much.<\/p>\n

Well, I've never bought one, and I've never worked on one either.<\/p>\n

Well, there's no way I could know that, is there?<\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to think about that a little bit this time.<\/p>\n

Since the price of drilling machines is rising rapidly right now, it\u2019s inevitable that equipment costs will go up in the future.<\/p>\n

In the past, 2-metric-ton-class drilling rigs cost less than 20 million yen.<\/p>\n

Depending on the manufacturer, it currently costs around 25 million yen.<\/p>\n

It depends on the options, though.<\/p>\n

Let's consider a 2-metric-ton-class drilling rig.<\/p>\n

Depreciation of basic machinery is calculated based on taxes and the machinery's useful life.<\/p>\n

In the case of rotary percussion (depending on the company's policy), we generally consider a lifespan of about 7 years.<\/p>\n

Depreciation period: 7 years<\/p>\n

25 million \u00f7 7 years = 3.57 million per year (straight-line method)<\/p>\n

This is the amount you can claim as an expense in a single year.<\/p>\n

Also, let\u2019s assume the repayment period for a bank loan is the same. (7-year loan or lease)<\/p>\n

Let's assume this is the minimum amount you want to earn in a year.<\/p>\n

3.57 million \u00f7 12 months = 297,500 yen per month<\/p>\n

Assuming there are 20 working days in a month,<\/p>\n

297,500 yen \u00f7 20 days = 14,875 yen per day \u2248 15,000 yen<\/p>\n

This is the minimum cost associated with using a drilling machine.<\/p>\n

And you can't drill a hole with just this.<\/p>\n

Drilling machines require tools that correspond to the drilling diameter.<\/p>\n

These include threaded chuck pieces and center risers.<\/p>\n

Plus, everything in this set is a consumable!<\/p>\n

Depending on the drilling diameter, the tools for the tip\u2014such as the chuck piece\u2014cost about 100,000 yen (in total).<\/p>\n

I think it's safe to assume that this will be used up in one month, so<\/p>\n

100,000 yen\/month \u00f7 20 days = 5,000 yen\/day<\/p>\n

Next, a swivel set costs around 350,000 (or 1 million or more for bore diameters of 135 or larger).<\/p>\n

Assuming 6 months of use,<\/p>\n

350,000 yen \u00f7 6 months = 58,000 yen\/month \u00f7 20 days = 2,900 yen\/day<\/p>\n

You'll need the inner and outer casing set, too, right?<\/p>\n

In reality, since we can reuse some components, I feel like we could probably manage even with 70% or higher, but<\/p>\n

Expense ratios and purchase prices vary by company.<\/p>\n

Sure, there are some workplaces where consumables don't wear out as quickly as you'd expect, but,<\/p>\n

It's pretty much the same throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Since we also have mixers, pumps, injection hoses, and other equipment,<\/p>\n

This means that, all things considered, machine costs amount to around 70,000 yen per day (70% or more).<\/p>\n

The unit price is calculated based on labor costs, machinery costs, and other expenses\u2014is that unit price appropriate?<\/p>\n

But over the past few years, machine prices have been skyrocketing, and things have gotten completely out of hand.<\/p>\n

Contractors are coming up with all sorts of creative ways to save money on construction!<\/p>\n

If we keep lowering the construction unit price, there\u2019s a very real possibility that we\u2019ll run out of contractors.<\/p>\n

Even now, there's a labor shortage, the number of contractors is declining, and there are plenty of elderly anchor crews!!<\/p>\n

Raise the construction unit price and drastically increase the salaries of young workers at construction companies (though that depends on the management, lol),<\/p>\n
