Just the other day, someone from Yamagata came to attend a training session on the Moldam construction method.<\/p>\n

Next month, I'll be visiting another company to provide training on rotary percussion installation.<\/p>\n

I've been getting more jobs like that lately, lol.<\/p>\n

I really appreciate it ^^<\/p>\n

But that's beside the point.<\/p>\n

How to Make a Packer (Part 6)<\/h3>\n

\"Span<\/p>\n

We left off here last time.<\/p>\n

Place the packer over this.<\/p>\n

You can just put it on in the usual way, but,<\/p>\n

It's best to place it over the Span Seal so that it covers it as evenly as possible.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, you can insert a single sheet of span seal (butyl rubber) at the tip, the same width as the packer.<\/p>\n

\"Hose<\/p>\n

Next, install the hose clamp and tighten it.<\/p>\n

This part is easier than dealing with track numbers and such.<\/p>\n

\"Installation<\/p>\n

By pressing down firmly on the span seal like this, I believe it\u2019s sealed tightly.<\/p>\n

Actually, this is where leaks are most likely to occur. Even if you think you've secured it tightly, it can still leak...<\/p>\n

On the other hand, if you tighten it too much, the injection hose may become constricted, preventing injection, so you need to be careful not to apply too much force.<\/p>\n

Since I'm concerned, I've also secured both sides of the hose clamp firmly with cable ties (Insulock).<\/p>\n

Finally, since the tabs on this metal fitting are dangerous (they could tear the packer), wrap them with vinyl tape.<\/p>\n

\"Protected<\/p>\n

At this job site, the free-length section was also a packer, so it\u2019s connected at both ends.<\/p>\n

Next, wrap the tape around the packer.<\/p>\n

This is to prevent the device from getting caught during insertion. Some people may feel it isn't necessary, but that's entirely up to the administrator's discretion.<\/p>\n

\"Using<\/p>\n

This masking tape is really handy.<\/p>\n

That's because they're easy to cut and inexpensive.<\/p>\n

In any case, it\u2019s best to secure it with masking tape before inserting the anchor, and make sure it snaps off easily after injection!<\/p>\n

\"Restraining<\/p>\n

This is how you can bundle the packers into a compact group.<\/p>\n

This will make it easier to put in!<\/p>\n

Some people use vinyl tape, but since it doesn't tear easily, I still feel a little uneasy about it, so I use paper tape.<\/p>\n

Some managers feel that this isn't a problem, so it's up to the supervisor on site to decide.<\/p>\n

I've got some interesting experimental data, so I'll share it lol<\/p>\n

Speaking of adhesive strength, masking tape has half the adhesive strength of vinyl tape, so<\/p>\n

You can see that it comes off easily and tears apart.<\/p>\n

I think there are all kinds of ideas and approaches. I think it\u2019s fine for everyone to have their own way, but it\u2019s also true that there\u2019s a lot of variation.<\/p>\n

I'd like to try standardizing the process so that making packers becomes easier and more reliable.<\/p>\n

Quite a few of my senior managers think Packer isn't all that great.<\/p>\n

That's because the manufacturing process isn't reliable, and leaks often occur.<\/p>\n

Even if you make them, the results vary from person to person, and besides, the part where they rise isn't visible, but,<\/p>\n

I'm sure there's a method out there that'll make me go, \"This is it!\" lol<\/p>\n

I would like to resolve that going forward.<\/p>\n
