I haven't been able to get the pressure plate out of my head since the other day, lol.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
As I was doing all these calculations, I found myself wondering, \u201cWhy is this metal plate here?\u201d or something like that...<\/p>\n
It makes me wonder about all sorts of things, like why it\u2019s this size.<\/p>\n
It's fun to learn about the various perspectives of the developers.<\/p>\n

Among those, the one I thought would be really handy is a load-bearing plate that can withstand mortar being sprayed onto it from above.<\/p>\n
Generally speaking, we don't carry products like that in our pressure-receiving plate lineup.<\/p>\n
At a site where work is being done using anchors to secure the structure, the pressure plate will get dirty unless it is covered as shown in the photo.<\/p>\n

This is such a pain!<\/p>\n
However, we\u2019re not getting paid for this\u2014we\u2019re taking these precautions simply because we want to do a good job.<\/p>\n
Well, I\u2019d be happy if you paid me for my regular services, but most of the time it\u2019s just pro bono work.<\/p>\n
However, while this is something that must be done according to the construction sequence, it isn\u2019t included in the cost estimate, so there\u2019s no source of funding, and the general contractor likely won\u2019t be able to pay for it. (Some project managers do include it in the estimate, though.)<\/p>\n

However, the construction company wants to keep the area clean, so they'll cover it up.<\/p>\n
Conversely, if mortar is found on the load-bearing plate during the final inspection, a complaint would likely be filed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The protective measures that construction companies take to ensure a clean job are actually quite costly, and I get the impression that some people go about their work without realizing this.<\/p>\n
That said, even if you call it a waste, it\u2019s actually necessary.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s not that I\u2019m saying money is everything, but as a director, I suppose I should recognize that as long as people and resources are involved, it\u2019s going to cost money.<\/p>\n

Every now and then, you\u2019ll hear a branch manager at some major company say, \u201cIsn\u2019t that just common sense?\u201d But that\u2019s completely out of touch with the times\u2014with the current labor shortage, the value of workers is skyrocketing.<\/p>\n
It's different from when the director was here. It's not a time when people are around, you see.<\/p>\n

There are probably some general contractors with project managers who take those factors into account, and construction companies that are more than willing to cooperate with them. On the other hand, if the situation is the opposite, there may be cases where a construction company asks for the project manager\u2019s name and then decides to pass on the job this time.<\/p>\n
In reality, there are often times when, depending on who the main contractor\u2019s representative is, you think, \u201cThis will be profitable,\u201d \u201cI can put up with this person to some extent and do my best,\u201d or \u201cI\u2019m not going to that person\u2019s job site!\u201d<\/p>\n
It seems there are more and more construction companies that are being chosen specifically for that reason. (At least from what I\u2019ve heard from people around me.)<\/p>\n

It doesn't happen very often for us either, but there's one person whose worksite I absolutely refuse to go to\u2014I just can't forgive them for this one thing. (There's one person like that, lol.)<\/p>\n
If we don't get along, it doesn't make me angry, and it's just a matter of not getting involved. (I'm an adult, after all, lol.)<\/p>\n

People tend to be drawn to a director who shows even a little consideration\u2014even when it comes to small expenses like this\u2014even if they don\u2019t have to pay for them, right? lol<\/p>\n
In the end,People and People<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n It all comes down to things like cost estimates, design, and the budget.<\/p>\n It\u2019s Mr.\/Ms. \u25cb\u25cb\u2019s project, so I can really give it my all!<\/p>\n And people who say that usually end up handling the money at some job site.
