A line craftsmen often say when they get into a fight lol<\/p>\n

Well, then, you try it! Can you even do that?!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I used to hear that a lot, too.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From the director\u2019s perspective, well, that\u2019s what the blueprints say!<\/p>\n

That's right lol<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That said, I guess it really comes down to how you say it, lol.<\/p>\n

It's true for everyone: when someone speaks to you in a high-handed manner, you end up responding in kind.<\/p>\n

Without even stopping to think, \u201cThey\u2019ll probably get mad if I say this,\u201d I just blurt out something like, \u201cYou\u2019re a subcontractor, so just do it!\u201d\u2014and, sure enough, they get mad at me lol.<\/p>\n

On top of that, they act like we're just subcontractors.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First of all, the client and the contractor (prime contractor) are on equal footing!<\/p>\n

That means the general contractor and the first-tier subcontractor are in the same position.<\/p>\n

The branch manager at a company I know often says,<\/p>\n

\"We and our subcontractors are in this together! There's no way we can make a profit without our subcontractors making one too!\" he says.<\/p>\n

He's really considerate of his subcontractors, so it's easy to work with him lol<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the other hand, there are also people who act condescendingly.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve even been told, \u201cWhy do we have to worry about the subcontractors\u2019 profits? I don\u2019t know anything about their profits!\u201d lol<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

That\u2019s exactly what you\u2019d say: \u201cWell, then, you try it!\u201d<\/p>\n

I'd just say, \"Fine, then,\" hang up, and block them. (A mature, cool response)<\/p>\n

But depending on how you phrase it, things like this might not happen, right?<\/p>\n

\"Communicate\"<\/p>\n

For example<\/p>\n

Maybe try phrasing it as if you're asking for advice.<\/p>\n

You could try explaining it while showing the drawings.<\/p>\n

Why don't you try saying it while we're having lunch together?<\/p>\n

Why not try bringing it up during a break?<\/p>\n

Why not try saying it first thing in the morning, during the cool hours of the evening, or when you're feeling calm?<\/p>\n

How about trying to say it while singing and dancing like in a musical?<\/p>\n

\"Musical\"<\/p>\n

The times you should absolutely avoid saying anything are, of course, when you're feeling frustrated or when you're busy.<\/p>\n

This goes both ways.<\/p>\n

Since your situation often comes across to the other person, please be mindful of the timing.<\/p>\n

This is what is commonly referred to as communication skills.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But there are some people who aren't good at it, right?<\/p>\n

In situations like that, you should just approach them with sincerity and talk it over.<\/p>\n

This is the only option.<\/p>\n

That way, the craftsmen will listen to you seriously and do their best to accommodate your needs.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The supervisor and the craftsman are in this together when it comes to that construction project.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

If either one is missing, we can't do a good job.<\/p>\n

At that scene, we absolutely need each other.<\/p>\n

With that in mind, are you confident in the way you express yourself and communicate?<\/p>\n

Is your message coming across clearly and accurately? Does your attitude come across as arrogant?<\/p>\n

Do you make the first move when greeting others?<\/p>\n

It's not like you have to be overly humble or anything, but just do a good job, lol.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

And I think the key to making things go well is to always be the one to strike up a conversation.<\/p>\n

Your communication skills depend on how often you strike up conversations. (It's okay if you mess up or the conversation fizzles out.)<\/p>\n
