It feels like all I've been writing about for the past few days is the rain...<\/p>\n

The weather was a bit iffy the other day, but I went ahead and did some mortar work anyway lol<\/p>\n
I'm glad everything turned out okay.<\/p>\n

Well, that\u2019s fine, but (Is that really okay?!) the other day, there was a bit of a disagreement\u2014or rather, we got a \u201c???\u201d\u2014with the general contractor and the government office regarding some changes, and apparently a consultant is coming to the site today to check things out.<\/p>\n
The consultant in charge is coming to check things out because they want to learn more about the special construction work we\u2019re doing this time and don\u2019t understand the reason for the change.<\/p>\n

If the quantity ends up being double what was planned, people are bound to ask, \u201cWhat\u2019s going on with the design?\u201d right? lol<\/p>\n
However, when the design is complex (since specialized construction methods are difficult), consultants often underestimate the margin of error and material loss.<\/p>\n
And since I expect the amount to double this time, we\u2019re holding discussions early on.<\/p>\n

However, the section chief at the government office seems a bit confused, so it looks like he\u2019s sending someone to check with the consulting firm.<\/p>\n
Well, today, I just want them to say, \u201cOh, I see!\u201d and head home, lol.<\/p>\n

If we use the materials as specified in the design, will the project end up half-finished? Or will we reduce the area (quantity)? Or will we use just enough of the materials to subtly cover the entire area?<\/p>\n
Of course, since we\u2019re going to the trouble of doing the construction work, I think it should be done perfectly, but it seems he\u2019s very concerned about the cost of design changes requested by the government office.<\/p>\n
However, that amount is still only about 15 percent.<\/p>\n
It seems they're hesitating to make a design change that would be a piece of cake... (Though I do get the impression they're particularly careful with their finances.)<\/p>\n

Well, we\u2019re just a subcontractor, but during design change meetings, we make sure to take detailed photos of the site so the general contractor can turn a profit\u2014and so the government agency can easily approve the changes, lol.<\/p>\n
The general contractor makes a profit, and so do we. That\u2019s how it\u2019s supposed to be, right? (Relationship)<\/p>\n
Other than that, I hope I can come up with at least a little bit of creativity and ingenuity.<\/p>\n

As long as public works projects are well-grounded and make sense, design changes can be made with confidence.<\/p>\n
Lies, exaggerations, and misleading statements just won't do.<\/p>\n
