<\/p>\n
On large sets, or when a director is juggling multiple projects, there are inevitably times when they simply can\u2019t make it to the shoot.<\/p>\n
Generally speaking, taking photos on-site is very important, but there are some craftsmen who are reluctant to allow it.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
First, I'll explain what's most important.<\/p>\n
At construction sites, photo management is one aspect of overall management, and the client requires these photos as part of the documentation to be submitted.<\/p>\n
For that reason,Photos are an absolute must during construction!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n To put it bluntly, even if the finished product exists, without construction photos, it\u2019s as if it doesn\u2019t exist at all.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Huh?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n That's what you're thinking, right? lol<\/p>\n However, the important thing\u2014assuming that\u2019s the case\u2014is that we\u2019re documenting with photographs whether the construction is being carried out exactly according to the blueprints.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Let's say there is a single block of concrete.<\/p>\n For the purposes of this drawing, let\u2019s assume that the rebar is arranged at 100 mm intervals.<\/p>\n After assembling the rebar and pouring the ready-mix concrete, a concrete block was formed.<\/p>\n The rebar inside will no longer be visible. Will it be possible to check the rebar during the inspection?<\/p>\n You can't do that, can you?<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The supervisor measures the spacing of the rebar and takes photographs once the rebar has been tied.<\/p>\n This is when we use photographs to document the quality control of the rebar work.<\/p>\n This is especially important for the parts that will be hidden by ready-mix concrete or sprayed mortar.<\/p>\n Parts like thisHidden Parts<\/span><\/strong>(Steamed Portion)<\/span><\/span>is what they say.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It\u2019s okay because the parts that will be visible in the end can be fixed later, but there\u2019s nothing we can do about the parts that won\u2019t be visible!<\/p>\n So, as a director, I absolutely want to take photos.<\/p>\n To do that, I\u2019d be willing to halt production just to get the shot.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Many people think, \u201cIf you\u2019re a construction company or a tradesperson, you wouldn\u2019t know anything about that! The job comes first, right?!!\u201d But unfortunately, managing the photos takes priority.<\/p>\n Without this photo, there is no evidence.<\/p>\n So even if the craftsman says, \u201cI did a thorough job. I definitely did the work right!\u201d there\u2019s no proof to back it up.<\/p>\n No evidence = the work wasn't done properly<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n If the work isn't done properly, I won't pay.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n That's how it works.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It\u2019s a matter of asking people to wait until I take a photo, but as a craftsman, I have my own way of handling it.<\/p>\n I think there are times when the supervisor just isn\u2019t available or is running late, and the workers really want to get the work done up to this point by the end of the day.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The craftsman should just take the photo!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n If you're the type to say, \"That's the director's job, so I don't know anything about it!\", please wait until the director arrives.<\/p>\n For those who want to get the work done as soon as possible, ask the director, \u201cI\u2019m going to take a photo of this\u2014can you tell me how to do it?\u201d<\/p>\n There isn't a single director who would say, \"Absolutely not!\" if you asked them to send sample photos via LINE. (If they're really particular, they'd just tell you to come in, lol.)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n There are a few things I\u2019d like craftspeople and beginners to keep in mind when taking photos. (Some of this may overlap.)<\/p>\n 1. Blurry photos<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This is unacceptable, so please reshoot it as many times as necessary.<\/p>\n 2. I don't know what I'm filming<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n This is another common issue: it's either too far or too close.<\/p>\n Even though it's a photo of the \"XX situation,\" the person doing the work is cut out of the frame, so only their hands are visible, or something like that<\/p>\n I'd understand if the photo showed both the whole person and their hands.<\/p>\n 3. I don't know the scale<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n A scale refers to dimensions. Even if there's no blackboard, it's still better if you can tell which part it is.<\/p>\n Also, please use a convex mirror and a pin pole to mark the distance from here to here so that it is clearly indicated as XX mm.<\/p>\n If the location is hard to find, just take a bunch of photos, starting from a distance and gradually getting closer.<\/p>\n In any case, please try taking photos of the hidden parts from various angles and at different scales.<\/p>\n As many as possible.<\/p>\n 4. Take photos so that others can understand them<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Please film it in a way that anyone\u2014even a layperson\u2014can understand.<\/p>\n Actually, this might be the most important part!<\/p>\n Even though I'm the director, there are a lot of people who take photos and go, \"Huh?\"<\/p>\n That\u2019s how hard it is to convey something to people through photographs.<\/p>\n It would be best to write the details on a blackboard, but since many people\u2014especially craftsmen\u2014might not understand that, please take plenty of photos\u2014even snapshots are fine\u2014and make an effort to take photos that clearly convey the information!<\/p>\n 5. Take lots of photos<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n If there are only a few, there's nothing we can do.<\/p>\n Please take lots of pictures.<\/p>\n From here, there, and everywhere! The director will handle the editing, so please feel free to take lots of shots.<\/p>\n If you pass this along to the director and let them decide whether the photo is good or bad, the quality of your photos will improve next time, right? lol<\/p>\n 6. Keep the area clean.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Please be mindful of your surroundings when taking photos.<\/p>\n Photos that are too dirty, have trash in them, or are untidy are not acceptable.<\/p>\n 7. Is it safe?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Isn't this a dangerous situation?<\/p>\n Is there anyone behind you who isn't wearing a helmet?<\/p>\n Is anyone here smoking?<\/p>\n Isn't that unsafe behavior?<\/p>\n This is a very important point, so please be careful.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Even though there are specific technical requirements for photos, if you\u2019re thinking, \u201cWell, I can\u2019t go that far!\u201d\u2014just take them anyway, and that\u2019ll really help the director!<\/p>\n You might be thinking, \u201cI shot this in 4K with a super high resolution\u2014it looks so clear, right?!\u201d But if possible, it\u2019s better to use a smartphone with around 3 million pixels lol.<\/p>\n I can't really complain, though, lol (The specifications are so detailed\u2014to a level that only the director would know about\u2014that even he's having a hard time with them.)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Since you can also use video these days, if you're unsure about taking a photo, just record a video instead.<\/p>\n If you're recording a video, please shoot it a little slower.
