I received a warning after writing in a recent blog post that a certain part wasn't necessary.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Well, it seems that part of that company's logo was visible, so I'm sorry about that\u2014I've gone ahead and blurred it out.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I am truly grateful for the attention this has received (including the awareness it has raised).<\/p>\n
However, in my personal opinion, I think it\u2019s not wrong.<\/p>\n
I've been in the industry for 26 years.<\/p>\n
I guess I\u2019m pretty experienced, but isn\u2019t it strange that nothing has changed at all in these past 26 years? (That part, I mean.)<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I suppose there are some products out there that don\u2019t need to change because they\u2019re good, but the fact remains that there are still unnecessary things out there, even as the products and methods we use continue to evolve.<\/p>\n
Even though there are many people who have long thought it was strange, it\u2019s still on the market.<\/p>\n
What does this mean??<\/p>\n
Is it okay for companies to sell anything, as long as it sells?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
All of the public works projects we carry out are funded by tax revenue.<\/p>\n
We are carrying out construction work using tax dollars. We are purchasing materials with tax dollars.<\/p>\n
What do you think about saying, \u201cIt\u2019s a waste, and it doesn\u2019t make sense, but please buy it anyway\u201d?<\/p>\n
Does anyone else ever go shopping and think, \u201cThis is a waste of money, but I\u2019ll buy it anyway\u201d? LOL (Well, that\u2019s a bit of an exaggeration, lol)<\/p>\n
It\u2019s totally different from when a husband thinks the things his wife buys are a waste of money, lol (and vice versa).<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Even items that NEXCO has determined are no longer necessary in this day and age are still being used by prefectures and cities.<\/p>\n
This is kind of weird, isn't it? lol<\/p>\n
Well, this is just my personal opinion, though.<\/p>\n
There are some things I absolutely want to include because they're necessary.<\/p>\n
I imagine there are some people who want to include it because the estimated cost will go down.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I'm just saying that I don't like Kirin Beer but I do like Asahi Beer, but since some people don't take kindly to that, it's a bit tricky.<\/p>\n
These days, we live in an era where we can speak our minds freely\u2014whether it\u2019s good or bad.<\/p>\n
We live in an age where anyone can share information.<\/p>\n
We live in an age where it\u2019s easy to say and understand what\u2019s good and what\u2019s bad.<\/p>\n
We live in an age where it's easy to gather customer feedback.<\/p>\n
So, are you just going to cover your ears??<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So, I thought I'd try conducting a survey, lol.<\/p>\n
Engineers, craftsmen, designers, government officials, material suppliers, and members of the general public are reading this blog.<\/p>\n
I think you'll understand how this applies, especially if you're an engineer or craftsman working on-site, so please do give it a try.<\/p>\n

However, I believe it will serve as a good starting point for something positive.<\/p>\n
