My second job of February starts today lol<\/p>\n
I really have a lot of free time, lol.<\/p>\n
The machine is being serviced smoothly, but it\u2019s a mixed bag\u2014partly a relief, partly a pain...<\/p>\n
It's best when things are busy, isn't it?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
During this time, I have been working on cost estimates, design, and bid preparation for private-sector construction projects, as well as cost estimates and bid preparation for public-sector projects.<\/p>\n
Since paperwork is an integral part of our job, everything we do involves paperwork.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Our goal is to process documents as quickly as possible\u2014how do you all handle this?<\/p>\n
I\u2019d like to share what I think is a quick way to organize documents.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
As for how I organize my documents, I first assess their importance and how quickly they\u2019re needed.<\/p>\n
Even in public works projects, contracts are awarded in this order.<\/p>\n

Here's what I have in mind.<\/p>\n
A<\/span><\/strong><\/span>This is for cases where the project's completion is imminent and you need the documents as soon as possible.<\/p>\n In that case, I'll send it right away, even if it means staying up all night.<\/p>\n There has been ground movement, and it is a major road.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n B<\/span><\/strong><\/span>When I think about what kinds of things are urgent but not very important... I think requests for material approval fall into that category. It seems like a tough situation, but it\u2019s not a major issue.<\/p>\n C<\/span><\/strong><\/span>I guess that\u2019s an invoice, huh? I\u2019m really forgetful, so I often forget to send invoices and end up getting reminders from the general contractor. I know I really should do better, but lately the system has been reminding me, so it\u2019s gotten a little better.<\/p>\n Claims for the Construction Workers' Retirement Fund and estimates for the near futureC<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's right.<\/p>\n A site where it would be a problem if this part collapsed, but one where it wouldn't have much of an impact on its own.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n D<\/span><\/strong><\/span>This is just the kind of paperwork that makes me lose all motivation, lol.<\/p>\n These are the kinds of documents that make you think, \u201cI don\u2019t need this!\u201d<\/p>\n That said, since these are required documents, I\u2019ll submit them, but I\u2019m running a bit behind. For example, the route map to the site, lol.<\/p>\n \"If it's crowded, I'll just take a different route, okay? I might even stop by a convenience store or something?? lol\"\u2014that's the kind of flimsy excuse I come up with.<\/p>\n Although the road is showing significant signs of deterioration, there is almost no traffic, so in the worst-case scenario, the solution would be to close it to traffic.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Once you've sorted the documents, it will be clear which ones to proceed with.<\/p>\n Let's stop for a moment and take a calm look at the documents to think things through.<\/p>\n Suddenly, the path forward becomes clear! (That\u2019s a bit of an exaggeration\u2014just for the paperwork, lol.)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n See you later.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n P.S.
