Lately, I\u2019ve been called in for projects like this and have been working inside tunnels.<\/p>\n

This is a leak repair job being done while the water is being drained.<\/p>\n
Since I don't usually do this kind of work, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, but I'm figuring it out through trial and error, using photos of work done by other companies as a guide lol.<\/p>\n
It's a relatively simple installation, so this part is a breeze, though.<\/p>\n
I guess we'll be getting more jobs like this in the future, huh...<\/p>\n
I\u2019m truly grateful to have the opportunity to do so many different things.<\/p>\n

This isn't just true for artisans\u2014it applies to everyone: things you've never done before are scary, and you don't really want to do them, do you?<\/p>\n
I used to feel that way, too. (The scary part is the fear of failure, isn't it?)<\/p>\n
A long time ago, I used to work as a sales representative for Benoto piles and cast-in-place piles using the full-casing method.<\/p>\n
Up until then, I had focused exclusively on slope stabilization, so I had almost no experience with foundation work.<\/p>\n
But since I\u2019d become the representative, I had no choice but to devour books on the subject and head out to the field.<\/p>\n

We followed the book to the letter, from the construction plan right through to the actual work, and by the time we\u2019d asked the contractor all our questions, it didn\u2019t seem like such a big deal after all.<\/p>\n
It all wrapped up without any major mishaps.<\/p>\n

When it comes to something you've never done before, the basic approach is to start by building a solid theoretical foundation.<\/p>\n
These days, if you ask Google, it'll tell you anything.<\/p>\n
Let's take a look at the photos for now.<\/p>\n
If there's a video on YouTube, give it a watch.<\/p>\n
At that stage, you\u2019re already able to experience it vicariously.<\/p>\n
Now, let's try reading some specialized books.<\/p>\n

And when you study extensively, build up a solid foundation of knowledge, and then head out into the field, your knowledge and the real-world situation will align seamlessly.<\/p>\n
At the same time, you can immediately spot inconsistencies between the situation on the ground and the question, \u201cHuh???\u201d<\/p>\n
It makes me wonder about the construction company's methods, lol.<\/p>\n

Even if you've never done something before, if you make an effort to try it, you'll find plenty of ways it can benefit your current job.<\/p>\n
Opportunities for skill development are hiding in places you've never tried before, you know?<\/p>\n
