Lately, I\u2019ve been really concerned about the behavior of the Vietnamese technical interns, so I gave them a warning.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The point I wanted to emphasize was a basic one: conduct.<\/p>\n
This is about my daily routine and work habits.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I place particular importance on this conduct.<\/p>\n
That's because I once hired someone with a bad track record and ended up in a total mess lol<\/p>\n
Looking back now, he was a real piece of work, but it was a huge mistake to keep him on\u2014trying to placate him and go along with him\u2014even though I was swamped with work.<\/p>\n
I suppose I must have turned a blind eye to the signs of that that were already evident in his behavior.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
As a result, we\u2019ll issue warnings to employees with such poor conduct, and if they don\u2019t improve, they\u2019ll be fired.<\/p>\n
This has nothing to do with whether someone is Japanese or Vietnamese.<\/p>\n
If you're in your 30s, it won't get better.<\/p>\n
It makes me wonder if I can still get back on track if I'm in my mid-20s.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
People who behave badly in their daily lives will inevitably behave badly at work, too.<\/p>\n
For example, it shows up in the way people smoke.<\/p>\n
People who smoke while working usually smoke without caring about those around them in their daily lives, too\u2014they just can't control themselves.<\/p>\n
People who don't pick up trash on site\u2014or who don't care about it\u2014are the kind of people who'll litter anywhere without even a second thought.<\/p>\n
They\u2019ll easily hit or verbally abuse people\u2014whenever it suits them.<\/p>\n

Those Vietnamese people spit and litter everywhere, yet when it comes to things they want, they\u2019re the first to snatch them up.<\/p>\n
What's more, they give orders to everyone\u2014seniors and juniors alike\u2014and change procedures on a whim. (Even though they're in their first year of training and don't know the job, they try to use others just to make their own lives easier.)<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The people I used to hire were the same way, too.<\/p>\n
It seems he would arbitrarily halt work on site, steal company property, and sell it. (I know all about it, lol.)<\/p>\n

To prevent that from happening, we need to provide thorough training here.<\/p>\n
I had a talk with him to make sure he clearly understood that such behavior would not be tolerated.<\/p>\n
Naturally, the company has no use for someone like that, so I also told him that it wouldn't matter when he decided to quit.<\/p>\n
That technical intern can do the work to a certain extent, but he\u2019s lazy. And he\u2019s arrogant.<\/p>\n
I guess it's easy to fall into that trap, isn't it?<\/p>\n

Don't you have someone like that at your company?<\/p>\n
A person with poor behavior.<\/p>\n
People like this are no good.<\/p>\n
Hiring someone like that will damage the company's reputation and drag the employees down with them.<\/p>\n
And to top it all off, he even goes so far as to say, \u201cIf I quit, this company will go under\u201d? LOL<\/p>\n
Please be very careful around people with bad behavior.<\/p>\n

A company is all about balance. There are people who are good at their jobs, and there are those who aren't. And then there are those who are just average.<\/p>\n
That's fine, but there absolutely must be no one with bad behavior, as I've said.<\/p>\n
This is different from the company's balance sheet.<\/p>\n

I think I didn\u2019t realize it back then because I was still inexperienced, but perhaps thanks to that, I\u2019m now blessed with great employees.<\/p>\n
The company may seem a bit rough around the edges, but I personally think it\u2019s gradually turning into a really great team.<\/p>\n
After all, there aren't any troublemakers here, lol.<\/p>\n
That was a good lesson back then.<\/p>\n
