There's surprisingly little work, and everyone's out on business trips all over the place, working hard, aren't they?<\/p>\n

I guess the big companies are always the first to move, huh? lol<\/p>\n

Well, I guess there\u2019s nothing we can do about it, but these are really tough times for small and medium-sized contractor firms.<\/p>\n

While the rates charged by major contractors (government unit prices) keep going up and up, subcontractor rates remain unchanged or increase only by the amount of insurance premiums.<\/p>\n

So, wouldn't you say that local companies that are able to secure a fair amount of work from general contractors are in a pretty secure position?<\/p>\n

However, with the shortage of engineers getting worse, I suppose that must be a challenge in its own right.<\/p>\n

However, I believe that the spotlight will shift from major companies to subcontractors going forward.<\/p>\n
