Facts, please!<br \/>[Chuo Expressway] Substandard Construction Without Reinforcing Bars Discovered; Structure Could Collapse at Any Moment : Painful News (\uff89\u2200`) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ahBtDAQjTy\">https:\/\/t.co\/ahBtDAQjTy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shingo Ota @ Singing Cyber Construction Company (@kigumix) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kigumix\/status\/1323412067445960706?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 2, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I suppose the reporter, being a layperson, ended up using this kind of phrasing (without mentioning rebar).<\/p>\n<p>I don't think there's any way it isn't included.<\/p>\n<p>I do think that, as the Twitter post suggests, it\u2019s more accurate to say that the amount is less than the design specification.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, this raises another question.<\/p>\n<p>Is that even possible under NEXCO's management??<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who\u2019s worked on public housing projects probably knows what I mean\u2014it\u2019s so loud it\u2019s actually annoying, lol.<\/p>\n<p>That's why I think we're also proceeding with the construction quite carefully.<\/p>\n<p>Is it really possible to navigate through all that and install fewer reinforcing bars?<\/p>\n<p>I heard there were about eight fewer than in the original design\u2014is that true, too??<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-42617\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/2020-04-30-12.05.09-1.jpg\" alt=\"Reinforcement Assembly\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If eight rebar rods\u2014which should be lined up fairly neatly\u2014were removed, wouldn't it be noticeable??<\/p>\n<p>If it comes out cleanly based on the pitch, you can figure it out by measuring the pitch, right?<\/p>\n<p>Besides, if it were the main muscle, you\u2019d probably notice it right away\u2014was it just in a hard-to-see spot at the top of the hoop muscle?<\/p>\n<p>Could it be a difference in the thread??<\/p>\n<p>Since they're supposed to be managing the construction, I don't think anything out of the ordinary will happen.<\/p>\n<p>There's definitely going to be a live session, too.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And does the rebar contractor really need to cut corners on just eight bars??<\/p>\n<p>When you think about it, it really is a hard-to-fathom incident, isn't it?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And what caught my attention is that it says the general contractor was accused by a second-tier subcontractor.<\/p>\n<p>Huh?<\/p>\n<p>What about first-tier subcontractors??<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 150%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">General Contractor \u2192 First-Tier Subcontractor (Construction Management) \u2192 Second-Tier Subcontractor (Construction) \u2192 Third-Tier Subcontractor?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On top of that, the company that filed the complaint\u2014a second-tier subcontractor\u2014is actually an architectural design firm, lol.<\/p>\n<p>I'm not a rebar guy, lol<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It's starting to get a little confusing.<\/p>\n<p>I sense something sinister here.<\/p>\n<p>In the worst-case scenario, it would probably come down to a compensation issue. But if anything does happen, it seems like it would just end with the work being redone and a suspension from being awarded contracts, right?<\/p>\n<p>If that happened, people would probably think it was suspicious.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We'll also be heading out to this NEXCO seismic retrofit project soon. (We're only going because the general contractor is in a bind, though.)<\/p>\n<p>\"Spray 20 square meters,\" or \"Install 10 rock bolts,\" and so on...<\/p>\n<p>This is all the money I have, though...
