It\u2019s easy to think that account hijacking is a thing of the past these days. But accounts on Facebook are constantly being hijacked, aren\u2019t they?<\/p>\n

Identity thieves are after your personal information.<\/p>\n

That said, you're probably thinking, \"There's no way they could steal that kind of info! lol.\"<\/p>\n

In fact, even if the information about yourself isn't that significant, what about the information that comes after it?<\/p>\n

There might be some outrageous information in there.<\/p>\n

In short, if your account is hijacked, you could end up aiding and abetting a criminal.<\/p>\n

I've been receiving emails lately that contain compressed files labeled \"invoices.\"<\/p>\n

Plus, it's the name of a construction company I know, lol<\/p>\n

It seems that someone at that company probably opened the compressed file, and the moment they did, their data was stolen, and now that email address is being used to send the same email over and over to other email addresses (at other companies).<\/p>\n

The simplest solution would be to delete that email address and create a new one.<\/p>\n

If we don't do that, it will keep spreading to companies run by people we know, and in the worst-case scenario, it could lead to secondary infections, tertiary infections... and it would just keep going on and on.<\/p>\n

To that end, first of all, do not open any compressed files you receive via email.<\/p>\n

Unless you have a specific reason to think so.<\/p>\n

And change your password regularly.<\/p>\n

This is the surefire solution.<\/p>\n

Especially those of you who proudly proclaim, \u201cI\u2019m terrible with computers!\u201d Even though you\u2019re not good at it, don\u2019t just start clicking on everything, lol.<\/p>\n

When creating a password,We recommend generating a strong password and changing it.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

1. 8 characters or more (12 characters is ideal)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

2. Use of uppercase, lowercase, and numbers (absolutely essential these days)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

3. Avoid Consecutive Repeated Characters<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
