The other day, I was talking with the site manager at a certain project site.<\/p>\n
Regarding possible future innovations.<\/p>\n

One of our Vietnamese employees was in an accident recently.<\/p>\n
Although it was classified as a non-work-related injury, I reported it and sent him to the hospital because he had cut his finger slightly.<\/p>\n
I also reported it to the local government office, and they took action.<\/p>\n
I was relieved to see that he went back to work a few days later, but this incident really made me think about a lot of things.<\/p>\n

I mean, people are always saying we need to make sure everyone is fully aware, right?<\/p>\n
This is something even Japanese people find quite difficult to do.<\/p>\n
There are tons of middle-aged guys who think they\u2019re being thorough, but then casually say, \u201cHuh? I didn\u2019t know that!\u201d<\/p>\n
How about in the case of Vietnamese people?<\/p>\n
They try their hardest to do their jobs and live up to expectations, and even when they don\u2019t understand something, they say, \u201cYes, I understand.\u201d<\/p>\n
I think it\u2019s a response born out of enthusiasm. (Though that might not always be the case.)<\/p>\n

The question is how to get them to understand that.<\/p>\n
The point is that it\u2019s important for us to understand what we\u2019ve understood. (It\u2019s a bit complicated.)<\/p>\n
This is just to make sure we're on the same page.<\/p>\n

To be honest, Vietnamese people don't understand KYK activities either. (Or is it just some of them?)<\/p>\n
How can we help them understand that?<\/p>\n
At first, we used devices like Poketalk to teach them, but now I\u2019m not sure if they\u2019re actually getting it or understanding it.<\/p>\n
Actually, there are plenty of Japanese people who are like, \u201cHuh?\u201d too. (It\u2019s just the daily morning routine of writing your name.)<\/p>\n

It would be one thing if I could check it in Japanese, but it\u2019s in Vietnamese, you know~ lol<\/p>\n
It's very difficult.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
So, we were discussing whether having a Vietnamese person with interpretation skills would be a significant advantage moving forward.<\/p>\n
An official from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism said, \u201cWe might need to have an interpreter on site to verify what we\u2019ve confirmed and the instructions we\u2019ve given.\u201d<\/p>\n
Going forward, it might be worth considering assigning such people to these roles as a creative approach.<\/p>\n
Having them gain a thorough understanding through an interpreter not only improves the quality of the construction work but also significantly enhances safety.<\/p>\n
Maybe such a company already exists, but it might be a viable option for a long-term project at a major company.<\/p>\n

I thought that Japan, which currently has no choice but to rely on foreign labor to get its work done, must change in that regard as well.<\/p>\n
I think things will continue to change in many ways as more and more foreigners come to the country.<\/p>\n
I'm starting to feel like we won't be able to survive unless we keep up with the pace of change and keep evolving ourselves, lol.<\/p>\n
