{"id":41808,"date":"2020-05-14T08:00:46","date_gmt":"2020-05-13T23:00:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/?p=41808"},"modified":"2026-05-17T13:21:45","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T04:21:45","slug":"public-vs-private-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/en\/public-vs-private-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Differences Between Public and Private Construction Projects | Comparing Slope Stabilization Contractors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.<\/p>\n<p>This is Enta.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When working on private construction projects, I often hear people talk about warranty against defects.<\/p>\n<p>A Simple Explanation of the Warranty Against Defects.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A warranty against defects in construction is like insurance that ensures the contractor takes responsibility if there are problems with the work.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That's it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, in our case as public works contractors, all materials we use are subject to a permit system or are designated by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Use the materials specified in the design specifications; all other materials must be products from designated manufacturers that comply with JIS standards,<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, it is a material for which we can issue a certificate of quality that clearly states the product information.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41809\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qua-e1519206451807.jpg\" alt=\"Quality\" width=\"350\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qua-e1519206451807.jpg 350w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qua-e1519206451807-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qua-e1519206451807-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qua-e1519206451807-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After submitting a quality certificate (mill sheet) and a request for approval, and once the government agency has reviewed the company\u2019s past track record and the product\u2019s performance, a permit for use is issued.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, there are virtually no construction defects in the end. (There may be a few, depending on the type of work.)<\/p>\n<p>Since the government agency approved the materials, the responsibility is transferred to them. (Construction errors are a different story, lol.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, in the case of private construction projects, there are almost no specifications regarding materials.<\/p>\n<p>Because<span style=\"font-size: 150%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Swallowing our proposal whole<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's the general idea.<\/p>\n<p>So that\u2019s why people ask, \u201cWhat about the warranty against defects?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We responded to the general contractor, explaining that since we use materials equivalent to (exactly the same as) those used in public works projects, our products are designed to last approximately 20 to 50 years.<\/p>\n<p>For that reason, I replied that I could not offer a guarantee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But looking back now, I don't think there would have been any particular problems even if I had worn it for about two years.<\/p>\n<p>That's because the work I did 10 and 20 years ago is still there.<\/p>\n<p>Come to think of it, maybe I should have been a little\u2014or rather, a lot\u2014more confident?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41625\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/kinchou_man.png\" alt=\"Nerves on Edge, Heart Racing\" width=\"330\" height=\"500\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In fact, even though this is a private-sector project, we do not do anything differently from public-sector projects, so the quality and workmanship are the same as those of public-sector projects.<\/p>\n<p>When undertaking private construction projects in the future, we should probably clarify whether there is any kind of insurance-based warranty against defects or similar coverage.<\/p>\n<p>I also thought that, even when dealing with private-sector clients, rather than proceeding on the assumption that they \u201cdon\u2019t understand,\u201d I should aim to communicate in a way that ensures they \u201cdo understand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Private construction projects really are a great learning experience.<\/p>\n<p>Since we\u2019ve mainly worked on government projects up until now, it\u2019s refreshing to hear feedback from a different perspective.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It looks like I'll have plenty more opportunities to learn in the future.<\/p>\n<p>See you later.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.
