(We perform the stability calculations in-house.)<\/p>\n<p>It looks great, and the stability after installation is outstanding.<\/p>\n<p>At first glance, it looks like a really simple job lol<\/p>\n<p>Yeah. I thought it would be easy... (That's telling, lol)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here's a quick overview of the Moldam method.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Protecting Stone Walls with Proprietary Technology: NHK Special News Report\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QicAPJ0EgnY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I'm going to write about the Mouldam method from a slope engineer's perspective lol<\/p>\n<p>For now, I'll try writing about stone masonry.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the old stone walls you see around here are what\u2019s called \u201cdry stone walls.\u201d (If grass is growing wildly through the gaps between the stones, you can be sure that\u2019s what they are.)<\/p>\n<p>\"Dry-stacked retaining walls\" are retaining walls constructed by stacking Kenii stones, blocks, or natural stones without using mortar or other binding agents.<\/p>\n<p>It is held in place by the weight of the stones. (The design is similar to that of a stone frame, but the stones are not arranged in a continuous pattern.)<\/p>\n<p>Between the stones, there are spacer stones and soil to secure their positions and make adjustments.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41799\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/fddd256f57e312852c2d98a3483d76de-22.png\" alt=\"Stone Masonry, Dry Stone Masonry\" width=\"600\" height=\"423\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Under normal circumstances, since it has remained in that state for decades, the soil particles inside are washed away by wind and rain.<\/p>\n<p>If a gap forms, the stones will move.<\/p>\n<p>If the stone moves, it will collapse.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, mortar has been applied over the joints.<\/p>\n<p>Let's take a look at what those grout lines look like.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Moldam Method: Inside an Empty Load\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dmYlcIDtVbY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>What do you think?
