The other day, at a meeting, I ended up being appointed president of a small organization.<\/p>\n
That got me thinking.<\/p>\n

Among all the different people there, a few said, \u201cThis role is tough,\u201d \u201cYou\u2019re in for a rough time!\u201d and \u201cAre you sure you can handle it?\u201d<\/p>\n
They always bring up things like that after the decision has already been made.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
From my perspective, \u201cIs that really something to say right now?\u201d<\/p>\n
That's what I think, lol<\/p>\n
At a company, your boss or senior colleagues would tell you that, right?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Once it's been decided, they start spreading negative information.<\/p>\n
As is the case with most things, I hate thinking about things before I try them\u2014since you can only really understand them once you\u2019ve done them\u2014and I also hate telling others what to do.<\/p>\n
That's why people like that really get on my nerves lol (not that I'd actually say that lol)<\/p>\n

On the other hand, I really like people who, when I say something like that, respond with, \u201cIt must be tough, but hang in there. Let me know if there\u2019s anything I can do to help.\u201d<\/p>\n
I can honestly say, \u201cThank you!\u201d lol<\/p>\n

I try to brush off negative comments, but the persistent ones just keep going on and on.<\/p>\n
You really have no choice but to keep a certain distance from someone who says that, don't you?<\/p>\n
Please be careful, as people like that can be dangerous in small communities.<\/p>\n
There are people who act all high and mighty, especially when they fail, lol.<\/p>\n
They're the kind of people who add their own spin to things and spread them around.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Let's just ignore people like that and focus on our own work!<\/p>\n
However, there is some useful information mixed in with that negative information.<\/p>\n
It would be a waste to dismiss everything outright, so we should be selective.<\/p>\n
There are some contradictions, but that's just how relationships are.<\/p>\n
By keeping a healthy distance in your relationship, you might be able to get only the information that's useful to you.<\/p>\n
