{"id":41168,"date":"2020-02-13T08:00:55","date_gmt":"2020-02-12T23:00:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/?p=41168"},"modified":"2026-05-17T14:45:44","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T05:45:44","slug":"serious-other-industry-learn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/en\/serious-other-industry-learn\/","title":{"rendered":"It\u2019s the Other Industries That Really Offer Insights | Learning from Other Industries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.<\/p>\n<p>This is Enta.<\/p>\n<p>I've been in Kagoshima for the past few days.<\/p>\n<p>A junior colleague from a field completely unrelated to slope engineering came along as well; she was there to study birds.<\/p>\n<p>When I say \u201cbird,\u201d I\u2019m referring to the kind you eat, like chicken sashimi.<\/p>\n<p>I'm studying sales methods, customer bases, and sales techniques.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kagoshima Prefecture is the home of Satsuma Jidori, one of Japan's three major native chicken breeds.<\/p>\n<p>A junior colleague from Nagoya is selling Nagoya Cochin free-range chicken.<\/p>\n<p>I hear the other one is Hinai-jidori.<\/p>\n<p>And, driven by a single-minded desire to make things better, they followed me.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m actually here for something else, but I actually learned a lot myself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It really made me realize once again that the methods and approaches used in any industry aren't actually that different.<\/p>\n<p>We (or rather, I) who are always focused solely on the slope engineering industry really should broaden our horizons and approach our work with a wider perspective.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes, ideas you\u2019d never expect come from completely unrelated places.<\/p>\n<p>I thought that increasing such opportunities might contribute to our company\u2019s growth and help our prime contractor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-41169\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/2020-02-12-10.57.18.jpg\" alt=\"Chicken: Daisaku\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/2020-02-12-10.57.18.jpg 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/2020-02-12-10.57.18-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The passion of the person selling the Kuro-Satsuma native chicken I visited the other day was truly incredible, and<\/p>\n<p>He worked with the sole desire to let his customers enjoy delicious Satsuma Jidori chicken.<\/p>\n<p>Our approach is to raise the fish from fry, process them, and ship them as sashimi<\/p>\n<p>I hear that they now supply many famous restaurants in places like Ginza in Tokyo and Osaka.<\/p>\n<div class=\"linkcard\"><div class=\"lkc-external-wrap\"><a class=\"lkc-link no_icon\" href=\"http:\/\/toriniku-daisaku.com\/index.html\" data-lkc-id=\"74\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\"><div class=\"lkc-card\"><div class=\"lkc-info\"><div class=\"lkc-favicon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/s2\/favicons?domain=toriniku-daisaku.com\" alt=\"\" width=\"16\" height=\"16\" \/><\/div><div class=\"lkc-domain\">toriniku-daisaku.com<\/div><\/div><div class=\"lkc-content\"><figure class=\"lkc-thumbnail\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lkc-thumbnail-img\" src=\"https:\/\/s.wordpress.com\/mshots\/v1\/http%3A%2F%2Ftoriniku-daisaku.com%2Findex.html?w=100\" width=\"100px\" height=\"108px\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"lkc-title\">Kagoshima Local Chicken Sales: Toriniku Daisaku<\/div><div class=\"lkc-url\" title=\"http:\/\/toriniku-daisaku.com\/index.html\">http:\/\/toriniku-daisaku.com\/index.html<\/div><div class=\"lkc-excerpt\">Sales of \u201cKirishima Jidori,\u201d a Kagoshima-bred chicken raised, processed, and sold under an integrated system from chick rearing through processing and sales<\/div><\/div><div class=\"clear\"><\/div><\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<p>I got to try a little bit too, but,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 150%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Waaaaaaah\u2014that's so good!<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It's sweet! The chicken is!!!<\/p>\n<p>The chicken was delicious and had a nice bite to it!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And apparently, he\u2019s made all sorts of mistakes along the way to get where he is today, and he\u2019ll tell us all about those experiences.<\/p>\n<p>He talks openly about his failures. I thought to myself, \u201cThis guy is a true pro.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Listening to people like that made me realize that I\u2019m still slacking off.<\/p>\n<p>Surely there's more we can do? Surely there are ways we can be more creative?<\/p>\n<p>If I ask myself more questions, I\u2019ll be able to deliver even better work to the general contractor, right?<\/p>\n<p>That's what I found myself thinking.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I was incredibly inspired.<\/p>\n<p>To be honest, I didn't really care about the story about birds, but I found myself listening intently lol<\/p>\n<p>It's really interesting to hear stories from people who are doing great in other industries!<\/p>\n<p>I learned a lot.<\/p>\n<p>I'm heading home tomorrow.
