This is Enta.<\/p>\n
I made a quick trip back to Kagoshima on New Year's Eve lol<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It had been a while since I\u2019d been to Kagoshima, and the weather was beautiful with clear skies and great views.<\/p>\n
And I came back after a one-night, two-day trip lol<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The thing is, my mom went through a lot on New Year's Eve, so she ended up getting hospitalized lol<\/p>\n
So, I had to rush back, take care of a bunch of things, and then come back, but, well, I\u2019m getting on in years, after all.<\/p>\n
Since I\u2019m already approaching my mid-40s, my mother is getting on in years, too.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
My mother lives alone and is self-sufficient, which was a relief in its own way, but this recent incident made me, in a sense, come to a decision\u2014or perhaps I just had to accept that it couldn\u2019t be helped\u2014<\/p>\n
\"I said, 'Are you coming over here soon?' lol\"<\/p>\n
If you're around my age, isn't that about the time you're going through that phase?<\/p>\n
Or maybe they\u2019re already living together, or attending a facility somewhere.<\/p>\n

I guess it\u2019s no big deal, but it actually took a lot of courage to ask my mom, \u201cDo you want to live with me?\u201d<\/p>\n
Even though we haven't lived together for over 20 years, my mom suddenly shows up at my place again... It seems kind of weird, doesn't it? lol<\/p>\n
Well, I guess I'll just have to get used to it...<\/p>\n
I plan to rent a place as close by as possible and live separately.<\/p>\n
I think it would be better not to interfere, but we need to carefully consider each other's perspectives and circumstances, don't we?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Since we're parent and child, there's always a risk we'll end up arguing if we get too close. I think it'd be best if we could maintain a healthy distance, lol.<\/p>\n
Well, I have a house in Kagoshima, so I\u2019ll have to sell it and make various other preparations, but will I actually be coming next year??<\/p>\n
That's kind of how it is. (It depends on my mom's schedule.)<\/p>\n

It looks like things are going to be pretty busy around here this year.<\/p>\n
It's something that can't be helped, so it's not worth worrying about. You just have to accept it.<\/p>\n

And I realized during this whirlwind trip home that I'm really exhausted!<\/p>\n
I'm just so exhausted, even though I only went on a one-night, two-day trip from Nagoya to Kagoshima and back to Nagoya lol<\/p>\n
I feel like my recovery rate has dropped somehow.<\/p>\n
I drank a little too much over the holidays...<\/p>\n
I'm going to cut back a bit in January and really focus on work!<\/p>\n

P.S. I was invited to the year-end party for supervisors in the Kagoshima slope construction industry on the 29th (or was I?), but since I wasn't planning on going back, I turned it down.<\/p>\n
