{"id":40756,"date":"2019-12-10T08:00:03","date_gmt":"2019-12-09T23:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/?p=40756"},"modified":"2026-05-17T13:29:54","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T04:29:54","slug":"zinc-plated-binding-wire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/norimen.net\/en\/binding-wire-zinc-plated\/","title":{"rendered":"Galvanized Cable Ties Are the Safe Choice | Choosing Materials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.<\/p>\n<p>This is Enta.<\/p>\n<p>The other day, I was doing a cost estimate for a city that had requested it.<\/p>\n<p>The design is so unusual that I had to ask the government official in charge, \u201cAre you sure this is right?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I ended up checking that.<\/p>\n<p>It made me think, \u201cWow, they still come up with designs like this these days.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I can't go into details since the bidding hasn't started yet, but I'll let the people I meet know, lol.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>But that's beside the point.<\/p>\n<p>I heard this from someone the other day.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, there was a binding wire protruding from the legal framework, and that was pointed out during the inspection, resulting in an order to tear it down!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1946\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dc6c451d2b788dc4335a27e3284dd3ca.jpg\" alt=\"Cable Ties\" width=\"600\" height=\"460\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dc6c451d2b788dc4335a27e3284dd3ca.jpg 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/dc6c451d2b788dc4335a27e3284dd3ca-300x230.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-size: 150%;\"><strong>What?!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s what you\u2019d think, right!?<\/p>\n<p>It seems that, in the end, it was spared from demolition, but it apparently caused quite a stir.<\/p>\n<p>It has been pointed out that the tie rods will eventually rust and affect the structural frame.<\/p>\n<p>So, what's the reality?<\/p>\n<p>So, I did some research on various things.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There really isn't any literature on tie wires in reinforced concrete structures, is there? lol<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sharing this because it was briefly mentioned in the Construction section of the General Specifications for Concrete. (This isn\u2019t about strength or anything like that.)<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-40757\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1b274cbef0214714b457366edc375f79.png\" alt=\"General Specifications for Concrete: Construction Edition\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1b274cbef0214714b457366edc375f79.png 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/1b274cbef0214714b457366edc375f79-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Red Line 1: It is standard practice to tie the intersections of reinforcing bars with annealed steel wire that is at least 0.8 mm in diameter.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Red Line 2: It is important to ensure that there are no harmful effects.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That's all it says.<\/p>\n<p>If interpreted (or twisted?) very broadly, this ensures that the binding wire does not cause any harmful effects.<\/p>\n<p>If the government interprets it that way, I'll just be like, \"Ugh.\"<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-40758\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/download.png\" alt=\"Gnunu\" width=\"225\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/download.png 225w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/download-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/download-60x60.png 60w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, it is usually the formwork for the legal frame where tie wires are visible.<\/p>\n<p>Since the strength of formwork depends on the formwork itself... the tie wire is unlikely to have a negative effect...<\/p>\n<p>Hmm...
