I've been wandering around the Yamanashi and Nagano areas again this week, lol.<\/p>\n
I\u2019d like to keep my work area as limited as possible, so I\u2019m considering a one-way commute of about 3 hours from the Tokai region (service area).<\/p>\n
But three hours is actually pretty doable, right? lol<\/p>\n

How about at your company?<\/p>\n
Our scope of work\u2014or rather, the area where we, as slope engineers, operate\u2014is really wide, isn't it?<\/p>\n
Since there are so many mountains to begin with, that tends to be the case.<\/p>\n
It's really convenient when a job site is close to a highway interchange, isn't it?<\/p>\n
Situations like that are rare, though...<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And as a rule in our family, if a place is more than an hour and a half away, we stay overnight.<\/p>\n
I feel the same way\u2014if it's just an hour or so, I figure I can probably make the commute.<\/p>\n
But don't you get fed up once it goes beyond that?<\/p>\n
And on top of that, after doing the work and handling the administration...<\/p>\n
It\u2019s especially tough for administrators to organize documents and manage photos afterward, isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n
Are you sleeping well?<\/p>\n
You just can't seem to shake that fatigue, can you?<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
For long drives, it is generally recommended to take a break once every two hours or so.<\/p>\n
Since they drive for an hour and a half and then go straight to work, the drivers\u2019 fatigue builds up.<\/p>\n
And when you factor in the trip back, that doubles.<\/p>\n
What's more, spending three hours round-trip on the commute means that,<\/p>\n
There\u2019s about two hours of wasted time between when I wake up and when I leave, and between when I wake up and when I get ready for bed.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
That means I spend five hours a day commuting.<\/p>\n
This is a waste of time. Plus, it\u2019s unlikely to show up in your paycheck. (Though everyone except the driver can just sleep, lol.)<\/p>\n
In that case, wouldn't it be nice to stay overnight and make good use of that time?<\/p>\n
The level of physical fatigue is also quite different.<\/p>\n
Actually, it\u2019s pretty tiring for everyone except the driver, isn\u2019t it? (Even just being a passenger.)<\/p>\n

If you force yourself to go, nothing good will come of it.<\/p>\n
I think that staying overnight and doing a thorough job will help pave the way for the future.<\/p>\n
It'll be too late once an accident happens.<\/p>\n
