They're the best!<\/p>\n<p>I prefer erosion surfaces and joints to landslide surfaces!<\/p>\n<p>I seriously love columnar jointing\u2014it\u2019s crazy how much I love it. To me, it\u2019s the absolute best.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-39287\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-15.01.23-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Tien Kun Cave\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-15.01.23.jpg 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-15.01.23-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There is a cave called Thien Cung Cave in Ha Long Bay, and it is a stalactite cave.<\/p>\n<p>Well, to put it simply, it's limestone, but it's amazing in its own right because it took such a long time to form, and<\/p>\n<p>Personally, it didn't really pique my interest.<\/p>\n<p>However, getting here involves climbing quite a few stairs, and especially with all the going up and down, I end up sweating buckets.<\/p>\n<p>I was especially surprised by the temperature difference when I came out of the cave\u2014I was sweating buckets!! lol<\/p>\n<p>I'll be throwing up almost all the beer I drank on the boat. (Just checking out the taste of the beer, lol.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-39290\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-15.04.55.jpg\" alt=\"Tien Kun Cave\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-15.04.55.jpg 375w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-15.04.55-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This limestone is featured on the 200,000-dong banknote in Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, 200,000 dong is currently worth just under 1,000 yen.<\/p>\n<p>Remove the two zeros and calculate using half of that amount.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-39286\" src=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-13.29.29-600x450.jpg\" alt=\"Fighting Cocks Rock\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-13.29.29.jpg 600w, https:\/\/norimen.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/2019-06-15-13.29.29-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I hear it's called \"Fighting Cocks Rock.\"<\/p>\n<p>The boat ride takes about three hours, and along the way, we stop at a raft where you can go kayaking, as well as at a cave.<\/p>\n<p>We'll be stopping at various places for about 40 minutes each, so the trip will take about 3 hours.<\/p>\n<p>I can't deny that I start to get bored halfway through, but I guess that's just how it is, lol.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There are some pretty fun things to do on the raft, like buying juice at exorbitant prices. (I recommend not buying any, lol.)<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a shame there aren\u2019t any Vietnamese slope data, since there aren\u2019t many mountains all the way to Ha Long Bay.<\/p>\n<p>It must be pretty serious for me to be worried about slope stability all the way out here overseas, but interviews and exams start today, so I\u2019m going to give it my all!<\/p>\n<p>I'll post the photos from this event sometime soon.
