This is Enta.<\/p>\n
Last Sunday, as part of an activity organized by the Youth Division of the Iwakura City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we held a job experience program for local children.<\/p>\n
I'm assisting with hands-on craft activities.<\/p>\n
Making things is the most fun there is.<\/p>\n
Since I can't actually work on slopes, I'm helping out in the manufacturing sector.<\/p>\n
If people could also get hands-on experience with slope stabilization and anchor work, they would gain a better understanding of our line of work, and<\/p>\n
Training future slope engineers? That would be nice, lol.<\/p>\n

We start by drilling holes in stainless steel stars, hearts, and circles.<\/p>\n
We'll have them drill the holes using a drill press and deburr the edges of the holes.<\/p>\n
You can drill a hole wherever you like.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll help the children use a punch to stamp the letters they want to stamp.<\/p>\n

Eventually, I'll turn them into pendants or keychains.<\/p>\n
It's just a small thing, but I've actually never even held a hammer before.<\/p>\n
Especially kids these days.<\/p>\n
Just swinging the hammer down is a struggle in itself, lol.<\/p>\n
Maybe the swing wasn't right, or maybe the grip wasn't allowing you to generate power.<\/p>\n
However, if you teach them thoroughly, they\u2019ll absorb it like a sponge.<\/p>\n

How about at your company?<\/p>\n
Are you teaching your juniors and subordinates properly?<\/p>\n
Do you ever say things like, \u201cYou\u2019ll know when you see it!\u201d or \u201cJust figure it out\u201d?<\/p>\n
To those in senior or supervisory positions, please think back to your younger days.<\/p>\n

Senior, did you watch and understand? Were you able to figure it out?<\/p>\n
To be honest, all I could think about was slacking off.<\/p>\n
And I never even stopped to think about what my seniors or bosses were thinking\u2014I\u2019m not a mind reader, so there\u2019s no way I\u2019d know!<\/p>\n
