This is a large-scale version of what is commonly known as a rock drill.<\/p>\n

Structurally, a rod (1\u20135 m) is attached to the main unit, a bit is attached to the rod, and<\/p>\n

Because drilling is done pneumatically, the bit rotates very quickly, but since the torque is lower than that of a hydraulic system, it is prone to jamming.<\/p>\n
