Quick Reference Chart for Right Angles by Slope Grade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello, everyone.<\/p>\n<p>This is Enta.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I'm writing this blog in an easy-to-understand way to teach my employees, but,<\/p>\n<p>Since some posts are on Ameblo but not here, I usually repost the ones I use frequently.<\/p>\n<p>For now, reading the text to get a general idea and then checking it on-site will help you gain an even deeper understanding.<\/p>\n<p>But teaching people things is really hard, isn't it?<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>But that's beside the point.<\/p>\n<p>This time, we'll be discussing right angles on slopes.<\/p>\n<p>Well, it's a simple matter, but I'll explain the calculation method for drilling holes perpendicular to the slope.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A slope of 1:0.3 corresponds to an angle of 73 degrees.<\/span>3-minute gradient<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A slope of 1:0.4 corresponds to an angle of 68 degrees.<\/span>4-minute gradient<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A slope of 1:0.5 corresponds to an angle of 63 degrees.<\/span>5-minute gradient<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A slope of 1:0.6 corresponds to an angle of 59 degrees.<\/span>6-minute gradient<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">A slope of 1:1.0 corresponds to an angle of 45 degrees.<\/span>10% gradient<\/p>\n<p>When the slope angle is like this,<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The perpendicular direction was subtracted from 90 degrees<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The angle perpendicular to a slope of 1:0.3 is 17 degrees.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The angle perpendicular to a slope of 1:0.4 is 22 degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The angle perpendicular to a slope of 1:0.5 is 27 degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The angle perpendicular to a slope of 1:0.6 is 31 degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The angle perpendicular to a slope of 1:1.0 is 45 degrees.<\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/stat.ameba.jp\/user_images\/20140421\/18\/enta-d\/af\/0c\/j\/o0540046012915829848.jpg?caw=800\" alt=\"Slope\" width=\"540\" height=\"460\" border=\"0\" \/><\/div>\n<p>If you calculate this on a calculator, you'll get this result<span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u2193\u2193<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong>tan-1(1\u00f70.3) = 73.3 degrees<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>tan-1(1\u00f70.4) = 68.2 degrees<\/p>\n<p>tan-1(1\u00f70.5) = 63.4 degrees<\/p>\n<p>tan-1(1\u00f70.6) = 59.0 degrees<\/p>\n<p>tan-1(1\u00f71.0) = 45.0 degrees<\/p>\n<p>When I use a calculator, I get a decimal. If I round this off or truncate it,<span style=\"font-size: x-large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u2191\u2191<\/span><\/strong><\/span>It will be the same number.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\">First, (1 \u00f7 0.3) = 3.3333\u2026; the answer is the same when expressed as tan\u207b\u00b9 (arc tangent).<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And,<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Right angle<\/strong><\/span>So,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The angle formed by subtracting a number from 90 degrees is the right angle relative to the slope.<\/span><\/strong><\/span>That's how it works.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A 3-minute gradient and a right angle of 73.3 degrees result in 90 degrees \u2013 73.3 degrees = 16.7 degrees.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A 4-minute gradient and a right angle of 68.2 degrees result in 90 degrees \u2013 68.2 degrees = 21.8 degrees.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">For a 5-minute gradient, the right angle of 63.4 degrees is 90 degrees \u2013 63.4 degrees = 26.6 degrees.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A 6-minute gradient and a right angle of 59.0 degrees result in 90 degrees \u2013 59.0 degrees = 31.0 degrees<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A 10% slope; the right angle of 45.0 degrees is 90 degrees \u2013 45.0 degrees = 45.0 degrees<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>That's how it works.<\/p>\n<p>I'm sure there are other ways to calculate this, but this method works too.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It\u2019s really no big deal once you get the hang of it, but I\u2019m actually embarrassed to think that I used to draw things in CAD and measure the angles myself before I figured it out lol.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please follow the design specifications regarding decimal places.
